"Point number three is that the way insurance companies have been operating, even if you've got health insurance you don't always know what you got, because what has been increasingly the practice is that if you're not lucky enough to work for a big company that is a big pool, that essentially is almost a self-insurer, then what's happening is, is you're going out on the marketplace, you may be buying insurance, you think you're covered, but then when you get sick they decide to drop the insurance right when you need it," Obama continued, winding on with the answer. Hell's Bells, just reading this article made me want to keel over, much less listening to the entire 17+ minute ridiculousness spouted with nose in the air and head bobbing from side to side.
Paaa-uke.
That said, I finally have to ask: I keep hearing this line about insurance companies "dropping" patients because they got sick or "cancelling their policy right after they got sick." I have a hard time believing that happens -- at least the way TOTUS is portraying -- or, if it happens, that it's not some rare, rogue practice.
For one thing, I cannot imagine that, in a nation full of trial lawyers and up to Jupiter in regulation of the insurance industry already, insurers could do the above, period, or, two, do the above unless it were provided for somehow in the coverage limits on the policy. In which case, isn't that your bad for choosing the policy?
Can anyone splain this to me?

Good Grief! I hope nobody asks him how hes feeling. Hell launch into why we need health care for a half hour ..... Ya got that right!
Many years ago we were vacationing in an exotic locale and decided to go to one of those dinner shows at the hotel just for grins.
About half-way through the show, the main entertainer starting repeating his schtick because he had sort of dozed off with his eyes open or whatever. He sang a song and told some jokes. Then he started up singing again, there was a little confusion in the band, but they caught up to him quickly. He was singing the same song he'd just sung, with all the "clap your hands, now" folks stuff and everything -- and then told the same joke afterwards!
At first I thought it was part of the act. But, no. He really was just going through the motions, lost his place without knowing it, and repeated himself.
Somehow the Obambi Wind-up Doll that went off on poor Doris reminded of that other showman today.

Exactly.
And if George Dubya Bush had EVER gone on like this, whooo-EEE.
One thing about Dubya: he kept it short and to the point. Even if he did say nuck-u-lar. Really, I never found anything the least bit wrong or offensive about “nuck-u-lar.”
And another thing about Dubya: if he said it, he meant it.
Gawd, I miss George.

a woman named Doris stood to ask the president whether it was a "wise decision to add more taxes to us with the health care" package. My goodness, these Tea Party are just so rude. "Is it wise, Mr. President?" WTH kind of question is that? And who gets named "Doris"? /s

we have been, up until last week, the only advanced country that allows 15 million of its citizens to not have any health insurance. .. And the other stupid thing about this is that everybody got medical care whether they had insurance or not.

Yes, and the article says the Rats are counting on sending Obambi “out into the country” (that would be where you and I live) to sell this thing.

Even Obama seemed to recognize that he had gone on too long. He apologized -- in keeping with the spirit of the moment, not once, but twice. "Boy, that was a long answer. I'm sorry," he said, drawing nervous laughter that sounded somewhat like relief as he wrapped up.
But, he said: "I hope I answered your question." "Hope all you want, but you didn't; all you did was try to baffle us with evasive bullsh!t."
