I just wonder how far Reid would have to go in supporting the downfall of the US before church leaders would void his temple recommend? I would suggest that Reid's bishop and stake president take a good hard look at Temple Recommend questions, 7, 9, 14, 15.

Temple Recommend questions.

7 Do you support, affiliate with, or agree with any group or individual whose teachings or practices are contrary to or oppose those accepted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

9 Are you honest in your dealings with your fellowmen?

14 Have there been any sins or misdeeds in your life that should have been resolved with priesthood authorities but have not been?

15 Do you consider yourself worthy to enter the Lord's house and participate in temple ordinances?

In my opinion, for Harry to remain "worthy" to perform temple ordinances, the General Authorities might want to take a look at no. 7 in particular, especially this part: "teachings or practices are contrary to or oppose those accepted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?",  and ask themselves whether the teachings and practices of the COJCOLDS, in this instance, are in sync with the welfare of the United States of America.

I know many Latter-day Saints who disapprove of Reid’s actions. And I know someone who answered question “#7” by saying “No, I’m not a democrat.” She said it was an organization that went contrary to the Church’s stated beliefs. Go figure.

It’s a rough world out there. Fight the good fight.

" just wonder how far Reid would have to go in supporting the downfall of the US before church leaders would void his temple recommend ?"

The church keeps giving Reid a microphone yet curiously not Glenn Beck.

The church that changed from polygamist to non-polygamist, from Non-christian to claimed Christian, from racist to inclusive has also changed from John Birch Society level conservatism to Harry Reid Marxism in less than one generation.

Perhaps the real question is "I wonder how far the church will drift from it's original teachings in order to retain power after the collapse of the US ? "

A young man takes off his shirt for a calendar picture and is excommunicated. Harry Reid supports abortion rights, gay marriage, Marxism, etc, etc, etc, and he gets offered speech opportunities.

"Led by God at every turn ?"....I don't think so.
