EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. As the story goes, former Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa has attended every event at Giants Stadium since 1976, buried in a final resting place somewhere under the west end zone.
As former New York Giants punter Sean Landeta once joked, "It gives a whole new meaning to kicking into the coffin corner."
More than 20 years after a self-described mob hit man set the rumor mill in motion with an interview in Playboy magazine, the question lingers: Is the answer to one of the enduring mysteries of the 20th century buried beneath the stadium and about to be buried even deeper when the stadium is demolished this spring?
To one former law enforcement official who investigated the case in the 1980s, there is no mystery.

Riiight.
The mob is gonna kill a guy in Detroit and make the 10-hour+ drive to NJ with a body in the trunk.
Never mind the huge tracts of land in Michigan and the construction projects all over Detroit at the time.
NJ has always wanted in on a wholly-Detroit legend.
Can’t believe that Giants Stadium is being demolished.
I remember it being built—in 1975.
Of course that is 35 years ago.
Nope...he’s buried at Al Capone’s old farm and hideout in hobart ndiana.
They checked there and they didn’t find anything
When you have a body, your primary objective is to make it disappear as quickly and completely as possible. Loading it up in a trunk in Detroit and driving 600 miles to New York with it is not how that sort of thing is done.
What does he say about it?
I think Mythbusters did an episode on this Hoffa theory.
(1) You can still smell a decomposing body when buried in concrete (tested with a pig carcass). The stench is apparently overwhelming.
(2) I think they did underground scans of Giants’ Stadium ... and found nothing.

I dined at the Fox and Hounds restaurant many times but never saw Jimmy there.
Tthe part that gets me is they drove 10 hours with a several month old decomposing corpse in the car.
He ain’t in that stadium.........everybody knows he is part of the retaining wall on I-696........
SO whose gun did McConky find at the Super Bowl?
He got killed, rendered down in a close mob owned rendering factory and that is the end of it.
I had heard that after Hoffa was killed, his body was placed in a drum of a type of highly corrosive acid that completely dissolves a body, bones included.
If there was anything left, it was poured into a sewer somewhere.
The mob used to laugh about how he was dumped into a steel mill crucible and was part of all Chevy fenders.
