So it was not due to global warming at the time, as conventional theory has suggested?

Catastrophism, ping!

The break-up of the comet was probably caused by a collision with a prototype SUV lost in space.

Thousands of chunks of material from the comet would have rained down on Earth, each one releasing the energy of a one megaton nuclear bomb. We need an immediate summit to reduce the universe's stockpile of comet fragments. You can't hug your children with densely packed frozen particle arms.

So maybe global warming is real, we’ve just had a lot more comets lately! Whew. I was starting to lose my trust in liberal (aka phony) scientists.

Oh. The major climate events which accompanied the end of the last Ice Age at that time had nothing to do with it then. OK. Saturn’s rings are considered to be mostly ice...so maybe it was an attack by the Saturnians.

People reading these things emanating from academic centers need to become familiar with the phrase, “Publish or perish”.

It IS interesting though, and as likely as any other theory. More likely than some.

Some Cro-Magnon looking at the ruins of his hut probably thought up “homeowners insurance”.

Will it rain Easter Sunday? No, you cannot tell me with certainty... so nothing they “think” may have happened 11,000 years ago is any more relevant than Star Trek is for the future of our space exploration... as of now... it is all science fiction. I despise the eco-wh0res.

About 11,000 BC there was a huge rainstorm that killed many many species and thoroughly disrupted human society? Hmmm... I’ve definitely read that very explanation in a book somewhere... now what was that book called?... Hmmm....

The catastrophe, caused by a disintegrating comet, wiped out large numbers of animal species and disrupted human cultures. Anything which disrupts food supplies disrupts human culture.
If these hit with the power of megaton bombs, where are the craters?
