In May 2001, we went to Phoenix, Arizona, to report on the porous Southern border. As part of that program, I interviewed Sen. John McCain and told him that the only way the border could be secured was to use U.S. troops. The senator disagreed:
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, R-ARIZ.: I do not favor using troops because they are not trained for it. They don't have the kind of qualifications necessary. I have strongly favored us using all the technical equipment that our military has including satellites, including aircraft and other technical means.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
Well now Mr. McCain has changed his mind, finally. But it took a terrible tragedy.
Arizona rancher Robert Krentz, 58, was found shot to death on his own property. Mr. Krentz leaves behind a wife, three kids and two grandchildren. His family had been ranching in Arizona since 1907.
Police suspect the murder was committed by an illegal alien who then fled back to Mexico. Authorities say they followed the man's footprints for about 20 miles until the trail stopped at the border.

Hi, John Kerry and I are brothers separated at birth.....
Prior to 9/11 a lot of people were not overly concerned about the border.
I sincerely hope McPain is forced into retirement.
Lady Lindsey is another matter. He isn't up for reelection till 2014 and South Carolina has no recall law.
US Constitution Article I, Section 10 - Powers prohibited of States No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.

Congress pushes bill to improve health care
in Mexico! McCain strikes again!
What would Americans think, then, of a member of Congress who introduced legislation, not to improve health care in the United States, but to improve health care in Mexico?Insane? Drunk? Unworthy of public office?
What would Americans think, then, of a bill introduced in Congress that required federal agencies to come up with a plan, not to expand health coverage in the United States, but to expand health coverage in Mexico? Impossible? Unthinkable? Wildly irresponsible?
What would Americans think, then, of the motives of a senator, who not only introduced a bill to improve Mexicos health care system andextend coverage to a growing population of 120 million people, but gave health insurance companies the right to help devise the plan?Blatantly corrupt? Grossly indifferent to the well-being of the American people? Downright treasonous?
Unbelievable as it may seem, the Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act of 2005 contained a provision giving insurance companies the right to help devise a plan for extending US health care to Mexico (Sec. 1004. BINATIONAL PUBLIC HEALTH INFRASTRUCTURE AND HEALTH INSURANCE).
Even more unbelievable, the senator who sponsored the bill is not on the verge of being thrown out of office for this odious piece of legislation. No, the senator who introduced the bill, Senator John McCain of Arizona, was on the verge of locking up the Republican nomination to be our next president

Yes it does. Especially with all of his posturing over obamacare. It’s funny, I’d forgotten about this until I started looking for something else on the search on my blog.
There is SO much bad about McCain that it’s impossible to keep track of it.
yes.... I hold him and his hideous job of campaigning responsible for what we have now.
The O man and the C.
sorry i was so rude
Yes, I understand I think he’s hurting himself tremendously and us with him. I still think he deserves to be told respectfully that it’s time to go even if he isn’t exiting gracefully.
I love Mark Levin’s description of O’Reilly: “the non-factor”.
A McCain primary defeat would send shock waves through the GOP that the status quo had indeed changes. A McCain win will be a victory for the lethargic and misguided GOP leadership and will result in major repercussions in November. The GOP foolishly equates voter anger at the Dems as automatic support for Republican candidates. Those voters have another option - just stay home.
“Hes a good man ... lost in a forever-messy institution.”
No “good man” would do what he has done.
The only fence Juan McAmnesty would ever desire to build is the one he and Jon F'n Kerry sit on when it comes to decisions or changes in the voters political mood.
You got that right. Among his traitorous acts:
Berating his own supporter on ntl TV ....... doing NOTHING when Marxist Ohaha mentioned redistributing the wealth to Joe the Plumber........allowing the pukeneos to have a stranglehold on his losing campaign.

It is amazing what a viable primary opponent does to one’s political focus. Republicans in Arizona should retire McCain this primary. It is not productive to bad mouth the guy. He sacrificed a lot for the country as a POW. But his style of pseudo conservatism is history. The GOP in Arizona can retire him in favor of Hayworth with the confidence that we will still retain the seat.
Thank you John. It is time for you to go write another book and spend time with your wife. Maybe you can talk some sense into that daughter of yours.
how many more will die when he flips again?
how many others died with no PR?
McCain is pathetic.
“I hope he goes down.
Fair chance of it too.”

Since he is now doing an about face on this issue, I think you are right. I bet the internals on polls in Arizona are not good for Juan.
Soldiers need to be at the holes in the border wall.
I appreciate that the Senator has served his country for a long time and made a tremendous sacrifice in Vietnam. But, with all due respect, it is time for John McCain to find some worthy cause to support and retire from politics.

Not to be critial of you; I know your comments are meant with respect for McCan’s military service, but at some point in time, we’re going to have to stop prefacing our criticizm of this man with his military service!
Serving in the military does not give anybody the right to do what he’s done to this country.
Again, no disrespect or anger meant at you.
“...unless actually invaded...” Seems like the money quote to me!
BINGO!!!!
quote of the day!
McCain is just playing primary politics. This is one instance where the lie is worse than the vote. McCain lied to himself and to us about the fence and troops. Now he is trying to cover that lie.
