MAKHACHKALA, Russia – Two suicide bombers — including one impersonating a police officer — killed 12 people Wednesday in southern Russia. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said the blasts may have been organized by the same militants who attacked the Moscow subway.

The powerful former president had previously vowed to "drag out of the sewer" the terrorists behind the attacks in Moscow, which killed 39 people and injured scores of commuters during Monday's rush hour.

While it saddens me to type this, I surely hope Russia gets hit hard and she finds out that many of these homicide bombers were funded by money coming from Iran. Russia needs to learn that helping the enemy of freedom is bad business.

Keep it up Muzzies. The Russians aren’t concerned with your feelings regarding torture.

Don't hold your breath on how Russia will responde. Can anyone recall exactly how Putin responded to Beslan?

Crickets.

As long as Putin is in charge (and yes he still is) I'm not sure that Russia is on the side of freedom....

Reminds me of an old story from the Lebanese Civil War era.....

The story of the tactic applied by the Soviets during the earliest days of the Lebanon chaos is a case in point. When three of its citizens and their driver were kidnapped and killed, two days later the Soviets had delivered to the leader of the revolutionary activity a package containing a single testicle – that of his eldest son – with a message that said in no uncertain terms, “never bother our people again.” It was successful throughout the period of the conflicts there.

However, since the 2003 Moscow Theater seige disaster, it seems like the Russian response to terror has been tepid, at best.

Russia is reaping the whirlwind from helping Iran so much. Also called karma.

As an American I do understand where you are coming from however, this has nothing to do with politics. Easter aka Pascha is by far the biggest and most holy on the Russian calender. All of the Orthodox Churches have services all week meaning every day and it just follows that these people picked this week to pull stunts like these.

Depends on who you ask and believe. From a Wash Times Ed:

The attempted Christmas Day underwear bombing of Northwest Flight 253 may have Iranian fingerprints, but those are dots the Obama administration doesn't want to connect.

Iran and al Qaeda have made mutual war on America in Yemen before. In November 2008, Western security officials intercepted a letter signed by bin Laden deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri thanking Iran for its "vision" in helping al Qaeda establish a foothold in Yemen after being routed from Iraq and Saudi Arabia. The terror leader praised Tehran for its "monetary and infrastructure assistance" related to a September 2008 attack on the U.S. Embassy in Yemen's capital Sana'a. Sixteen people were killed in the attack, which featured machine gun and rocket fire supporting a double suicide car bombing.

Some intelligence analysts downplay the idea of cooperation between al Qaeda and Iran because the two are ideological foes. But both detest the United States and have mutual interest in collaborative efforts that hurt U.S. interests. Iran has provided a safe haven - Tehran calls it "house arrest" - to scores of al Qaeda operatives since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. One of Osama bin Laden's wives, six children and 11 grandchildren are reportedly living in Iran. Former Guantanamo detainee No. 372, Said Ali al-Shiri, who like al Awfi joined al Qaeda in Yemen after Saudi deprogramming, had been in Iran shortly before being picked up by Coalition forces in 2001. Al Shiri was reportedly killed in an air strike in Yemen in December 2009 and may have been one of the planners of the attempted Flight 253 underwear bombing.

My sympathies are with the people - innocents who bear the brunt of the policies of the few. Having said that (with heartfelt prayers for the souls of those killed, and the speedy recovery of those injured), it does not negate the blame for this which rests squarely on the heads of those who use these despicable means to make their cause known.

It is for these very reasons that all these tactics are an abomination and they will recoil on the heads of the perpetrators. You can’t shed innocent blood and not have it call out to God. Call it what you will — karma, Divine Retribution — but it is coming back at them with the speed of light and then some.

Russia will do what she must to keep her people safe. Maybe its time to release the Cossacks. Maybe its time for lots of people in southern Russia to be moved to Siberia—lots of work their for coal miners you know.
