Gay and lesbian couples who share a home may identify one another as "husband or wife" on their 2010 census forms if that's how they view their relationship even if they have not legally married in any of the places where it is allowed.
And whatever they say on that form is precisely how the government will count them.
Advocates who have long sought a complete count of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community say this falls short but is still a partial breakthrough one they say offers tacit acknowledgment of the very relationships the federal government legally denies.

Thus rendering the statistic meaningless.
What about straight domestic partner couples? They also may DEEM themselves to be in a relationship equal to marriage.
No word on those cohabitating with animals....yet.
They don't have their own special set of 'rights' and laws that apply only to them, as the homosexuals do.
Tough luck.
I’m a male. I have a philodendron that I’ve named Madge and a dog named Shithead. Does that count as 3? The plant is from the U.S. and the dog is from Mexico.
Then I say F*** the census. Obama can use the blanks he gets back for TP
Just tell them you’re married to 600,000 wives, and they all live at your house. You can be a congressional district all by yourself.
Our country has gone insane.

I wonder how they deal with such census issues in the UK? I guess it's actually easier because all of this has been legalized. "sigh"
Great Britain- Muslim is spared a speeding ban so he can drive between his two wives
Our country has gone insane.
Don't worry....it can still get FAR worse. This FR thread regards Canada, and is from 2007:

Amen!
As long as you pay your taxes and vote with the hard Left, you'll be just fine.

When I go over to DU (yuck) they were always of the persuasion that Bush wanted to become some kind of theological dictator so that he could put all the gays in concentration camps. (The lack of perception of the nature of Christianity on the left has always amazed me.)
My guess is the desire to be counted (”we are ten percent or even more of the population!”) is going to war with their paranoia about being holocausted or some such.
One of the many things about the hard left that astonishes me is their ability to breezily accept polar-opposite contradictions in philosophy as ‘business as usual’ and to do it with a straight face (pardon the pun).
There is always a convenient, although entirely illogical, ‘explanation’ for every Leftist position which all good, jackbooted Leftists must mindlessly agree with or face ostracism as a ‘racist’, ‘homophobe’, etc.
They’ll make it work.... as long as the end result is a greater number of Leftist voters and the eventual destruction of America, they’ll make it work.
I tossed mine. Update pending.
That's a common-law marriage in 11 states and the District of Columbia.
Fake but true.
I would love to SS#’s for my 2 cats
For marital status, I checked “OTHER” and added “living as interactive placeholders until the Great Hospital Opens”.
our children are listed as “Raggedy Ann” and “Andy”. I am SURE no ACORN processing people will recognize that as a joke, but instead declare, “why I know those people, I signed them up to vote!”

Stoat here says to read the whole article. I humbly admit I haven't yet, it's been a long day. But I promise to read it tomorrow! Sick and insane - it's so far beyond that.
We did the census and said that two people lived here. DIdn't offer any more info. I didn't even look at the papers. If they come here they won't get in because there's a gate and 250 of path to get to the cabin.
