It would be a cold day in hell before I paid Phelps a dime!
I would rot in jail first!

This is how Phelps keeps this “church” going. He sues everyone he can.

I saw that interview and it is not the way this news report portrays it to be. The quotes are correct; he did say that he wasn’t pulling a checkbook until he heard from SCOTUS. It’s just the way this report sounds, it makes it sound like the man had a scowl on his face and clenched his fists in defiance, saying, “There is no way in Hell I’m paying for the court costs of those freaks!” In reality, he was very calm; you could tell he was still hurt by the loss of his son and was insulted by this court’s decision but it’s not the way this report makes it sound.

I wonder if Phelps is so ardent in his protests because he is ... overcompensating for his own gender preferences? Sort of like the star football player manly man who likes men.
Just a question, certainly not an assertion of anything untoward.

Good for him.
I’d be surprised if you’d find a jury in the world who would convict him. Jury nullification is still an option.

I can't argue against the Phelps clan's right to their freedom of speech which by the way has been severly restricted in a recent congressional bill limiting their access to funerals.
I do however disagree with forcing the Snyder family to pay the assessed legal fees.
With that being said, its unlikely they are going to win at the SCOTUS level and will surely amass tons of legal fees along the way.
The logical solution is for charitable organizations to take up a collection and pay the Snyder family's bills and put an end to this travesty of justice.........

It’s outrageous that we’ve fallen so low that a slimeball judgeocrat actually decided that sickos harrassing and terrorizing the families of fallen soldiers, increasing their mental anguish are protected by the constitution our soldiers die to defend.

"I don't think I'm going to be writing a check until I hear from the Supreme Court," Snyder told Fox News on Tuesday. "I'm not about to pay them anything."
then you better put up the entire judgment as a cash bond. If not, I'm sure Phelps knows how to execute on a judgment - attach all assets and have your home sold at sherrif's sale.

I encountered many of those in the Phelps clan during one of their protests years ago. They are, indeed, one whacked-out group.
While I can’t condone violence, I’m surprised somebody hasn’t taken more aggressive action against this group. Perhaps someday they’ll run into somebody with nothing left to lose.
