The lonely leader for immigration reform legislation among Senate Republicans, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, is chafing at what he views as the White House's unwillingness to put political muscle behind the effort.
"The president promised to pass an immigration reform bill in his first year. Theyve done almost nothing in the White House on immigration," Graham said Sunday on NBC's "Meet The Press."
While the White House has been urging Graham and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to craft legislation and bring it to President Barack Obama, a frustrated Graham seemed to want to flip that process around.
"I urge the president to write a bill and see if he can get another Republican, see if he can convince the 16 Democrats who voted no last time," Graham said bitterly. "Let him do some heavy lifting here on immigration. ... Write a bill and send it to me. I'll be glad to look at it."

I’m not sure if Graham really is pushing for amnesty, or he’s just trying to get Obama to take the bait.
Yeah, but from what I have always understood, Hispanics always vote Democrat, no matter what..and no matter who assists in the amnesty given, they will always end up voting Democrat, so Republicans are diluting themselves to think otherwise. McCain, Graham, I don’t get their obsession with this amnesty thing, McCain wants it too but Graham has been more vocal about it. What is that guy smoking, does he actually think illegals given amnesty are going to come up to him and say “You have my vote” he must be on something to think that
I used to have hopes for graham years ago but he
has not lived up to his promise.
I didn’t know much about him til recently, and from what I have seen, he is a major screwball.
OMG! WHO does these titles??? “Obama DONE”??? Yikes! What’s wrong with “Obama DID”?! Geez - it’s just as easy to type. Graham DID NOT say that - he said, “They’ve done....”
Get out while ya still can Graham Crackers!
Lets keep it that way Lindsey Boy. Enforce the laws. Works every time.
LOL!
Bills are supposed to originate in the legislative branch. But the stimulus bill was written by the “Apollo Alliance” who’s president, last name Jones, was a co-conspirator of William Ayers and the Weather Underground bombings.
Who knows who wrote the health control bill. Maybe Karl Marx himself?
Seems like congress is so inept they can’t write, or even read the bills they are ramming through.
Rogue bastards.
“Why is there always this assertion that the amnesty
will only result in democrat voters? “
Because we’re sane?
“Hispanic citizens have a strong work ethic and will want
to keep what they earn just like everyone else.”
Illegal aliens have proven they want to keep what is theirs and take what is ours.
It’s Lindsey for pete’s sake, this time he is back with a National ID scheme.
How in the world the good folks of SC can elect the excellent Jim DeMint, then also elect those efitte’ moron is beyond comprehension.
Watch for rule by executive order.
He was reelected in ‘08. Sigh. Pay attention to your primaries South Carolina
Lindsey,
Who needs congress? Can you say executive order in September or October?
Uber RINO Lindsey Ping
"Republican by day, Democrat by night."
Want on or off this ping list?
Just FReepmail me.
I suspect if you surveyed the states and drew a comparison between each state's senators, SC would win hands down. A lefty RINO faggot vs. a strong, tell-it-like-it-is conservative. Don't get much further apart than that.
I hear you. Seems like anymore I find at least one misspelled word or grammatical error when reading articles. Even from the NYT, WSJ, etc.
I think the dumbing down done by the Imperial Federal Government controlled public schools that has been going on for the last 30-35 years is finally coming home to roost.
