I believe that Sarah stuck her finger in the wind and decided the breeze was favorable for a McCain win. If she backs against the Big Mac and he wins then she would be persona non grata in the GOP and banished beyond the sidelines to the cheap seats.

I agree. But I am not interested in the “Palin Political Viability Chart”, I care about the USA, and Palin is now the enemy.
Your problem is you base your judgments of Palin on your own finger in the wind.
Nobody thinks Palin would make a decision that way, because she has never given any indication she would.
