Dems bring race issue into A.G. healthcare lawsuits
Washington Times - Water Cooler ^ | 3-26-10 | Kerry Picket

Posted on 03/26/2010 6:03:48 PM PDT by paltz

At a press conference on Thursday morning, Democratic Representatives Sheila Jackson Lee and Al Green, both from Texas, equated the suits filed by fourteen state attorneys general, particularly that of Texas Attorney General Greg Abbot, fighting the health care bill recently passed in Congress, to the suits that were filed following the 1964 Civil Rights Act and 1965 Voting Rights Act. (all emphasis is mine)

“...[with] the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act--lo and behold states' rights activists wanted to use the Commerce Clause then. Then, African Americans were second class citizens. That legislation was to bring them into then the 20th Century and provide them with first class rights,” she said.

Mike Berry here in TX rails on Queen Sheila and it made me want to put up a page. Well I am putting up a page on every Democrat that is in office and here is Queen Sheila’s that has a link to her opponent:

Any constructive criticism is appreciated as this is a work in progress and a large one at that. But being unemployed since right before BO took office, what else is there to do with my time.

The Queen just let the cat out of the bag that they intend to orchestrate race riots to stop the court challenges.

Al Green is my representative. He hasn’t even had a Republican opponent since his first run in 2004. I voted Libertarian in 2008. Of course, Green got 92% of the vote. His voting record is nearly as liberal as Nancy Pelosi’s. I’ve got to move to another part of Texas.

This is simply firing up the base.

None of what the dumber-than-a-post Ms Lee says will matter. All that will matter is what the USSC believes to be the case, and I'd not be surprised to see them reach down and snatch it up after the very first appeal from a Federal Court, bypassing the Appeals Court.

I'm hoping 6-12 months...but certainly before the Nov elections.

Could you see the ENORMOUS blow the dims would take if their landmark legislation was over-turned by a 6-3 margin?

Unconstitutional, and your local dim participated in UNPRECEDENTED dirty, filthy power-politics to get it enacted!?!?!?

Or worse, due to the severability clause of the legislation ONLY the Individual Mandate (the 10th) AND the exemption for certain religions (the 14th) are over-turned leaving the REST of the monstrosity intact?

Dayum, talk about looking STOOPID.

Green got 92% of the vote.

The health of the republic is damaged by carving out minority majority districts. It insures that any black people elected to congress will be race baiting fools and liars like John Lewis. And it insures that candidates in other districts won't give a damn what black voters think.

They have a point. Just like in the 60's, Democrats are fighting for oppression and Republicans are fighting for freedom.

Dream on. It would all come down to Kennedy. You really think the Wise Latina, or any of the other leftists, would support constitutional principles over the expansion of the state? It could actually fire up the left base. But big deal. I'd take that trade. They still would be far too diminished to try anything like it again. But then we'd have to spend the next 80 years listening to the left whine about an activist court. But it's be worth it just to see Obama's sputtering rage at the thought of limited constitutional government.

So what they’re saying is that blacks are mostly the freeloaders that this healthcare bill was to benefit?

Black voters have overwhelming voted for only black politicians who push policies that are racist and pro-black. How long did they think they could keep this up without a backlash from the White community?

Now, it’s starting. Boo-freaking-hoo! Get used to it. You have awaken the beast: white people are becoming “just another minority”, something the JDL, ACLU, Democrats and MSM never tire of celebrating! As if somehow everything will be better when the groups which are over-represented on welfare roles, over represented in crime statistics and prison, over represented in social pathologies like teen pregnancy and single motherhood become the new majority.

You know, we’re slow, but not un-teachable. We are waking up. Seeing as we are now just another minority, expect us to act like it. Expect us to vote exclusively for candidates who look like us, talk like us, and take care of us. Expect us to view react to the hostitily of other groups with hostility of our own. Expect us to use words you don’t like, hiss at the ugly politicians destroying our nation, and demand special priviliges JUST LIKE YOU DO.

Deal with it, tards.

Watch Ginzburg, she could be the 6th vote...even Stevens.

Both occasionally have a civil libertarian streak from time to time, though rare.

How do these people get elected? The governor of Texas in 1964 was John Connally, then a DEMOCRAT!!!! He later decamped to the republican party and sucked up to the republicans for cushy jobs.

It’s an ugly truth that needs to be looked at through the prism of history. There was a reason why the Founding Fathers and the Framers of the Constitution wanted to extend voting rights ONLY to landowners. They understood that only those with something to lose could make a reasoned and rational choice on Election Day. Witness the welfare class electing only those enablers that continue to siphon more and more from those that do work to those that won’t work.

I highly recommend my little corner of North Texas, represented well in the US House by Jeb Hensarling. I am close enough to Dallas for shopping, dining and some of the best medical care in the country(for now).
