Stupak was definitely at the signing of the bill. There was no "ceremony". It was just some of the faux-pro-life Democrats standing around the President and only one picture was released.

"My vote on health care reform was the most difficult vote I have cast during my 20 years as a state representative and a member of Congress." Let me finish this thought. It was difficult until my palm got greased. Just another lying phony.

Darn! I hate it when I get corrected. Especially in this situation.
Was there more than on signing? I don't believe I ever saw this picture.

The Executive Order was the only vehicle available to maintain the Hyde restrictions in the health care reform legislation. Stupak had all the power - if he'd have stuck to his guns, he'd have gone down in history as one of the most courageous politicians ever - a man who put principle over party at the most critical time in the history of his party. Instead, he will be the Benedict Arnold of the healthcare legislation story.

>> Stupak Office Memo: The reality is the Stupak amendment only received 45 of the required 60 votes in the Senate. The Executive Order was the only vehicle available to maintain the Hyde restrictions in the health care reform legislation.
Bullcrap!!!

They showed the picture on Fox News yesterday. They talked about how there was no fanfare - it was a private ceremony with only the president and the ‘pro-life’ dems.

Wait on Benishek. Jason Allen is a Republican State Senator who is term limited from his district. He is rumored to be entering the race (they have until May 11th). Allen would be a much more experienced and tougher opponent. Allen has routinely won re-election with 60-70% of the vote. His district is the south half of Stupaks’ district.

Ah........now I read the “executive order” was signed. Now it all makes sense. I still hope that sucka gets a new job in November. Gosh.........I sure wish I could vote there. It would be so satisfying!

"He went to Washington with honorable intentions." I find that difficult to believe. Besides intention is worth nothing. Conviction does count for something. Stupak lacks the latter.

I am surprised and disappointed by the reaction of some pro-life groups in opposition to the Executive Order given the fact that these same groups embraced President Bush's Executive Order in June 2007 banning embryonic stem cell research. sigh..let me explain it to Judas here..President Bush is PRO-LIFE..he will stand behind his eo on this issue..unlike the current occupant in the white house, who is the most pro-abortion president in the history of this nation..sigh..what a maroon..

Thank you...I will watch and wait. I’m actually keeping a little list of contributions I want to make in races around the country. I’m not a ‘big money donor’ by any means, but I want to do my part to affect certain races just like FReepers did here in Massachusetts with Scott Brown.
