I’m that religion.
Quick
I’m that religion.
Quick.
Amish, right?
No?
Oops , better read the article.
Wow.
Who would of thunk Obama would do it ..................
But then again all Congress people, and their STAFFS, are exempt too!!!!
This is all SOOOOOO unconstitutional.
Muslims and Amish.
My new name will be Muhammed Stoltzfus.
I think so. I read that buying health insurance is forbidden by the religion.
Why Muslims and Amish? Whatever the reason, Christians and Jews should proclaim this reason, too. We “suddenly” find it in our Bibles!
Sounds like it’s time to get the Church of John Moses Browning formally recognized...
Since the Amish are a Christian sect, and thus can claim a religious exemption, and Muslims can claim an exemption based on their rejection of insurance, as a form of usury, it seems to me that a Christian religious doctrine could be reasonably established that would permit modern medicine, but only on a cash basis with health care providers.
Any third parties, such as the government, or insurers, would be excluded as usurious. Likewise, health providers from that Christian religious sect would reject all government or insurance involvement in their health care relationship with patients.
This means no electronic record keeping, and the only taxes levied would be sales and income taxes.
This would have the same basic idea as home schooling based on religious preferences.

The fatwas are already out on it:
"Praise be to Allaah.
Firstly:
Health insurance is haraam like other types of commercial insurance, because it is based on ambiguity, gambling and riba (usury). This is what is stated in fatwas by the senior scholars. See the answer to question no. 39474 and 4210.
In Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daaimah (15/277) there is a quotation of a statement of the Council of Senior Scholars concerning the prohibition on insurance and why it is haraam:
snip
Secondly:
The fact that the state makes insurance compulsory does not make it permissible; rather the burden of sin is waived from the person or company who is obliged to do that. As for the broker company which is doing this work by choice, it is guilty of sin."

Allah’u akbar mother frackers!
WOO HOO!!!
Are these people not required to buy AUTO insurance?
And what in the hell happened to “separation of church and state?” I’m sorry - but if the ACLU can file lawsuit after lawsuit proclaiming “separation” of church/state, am I wrong to follow the train of thought that there should be NO religious exemptions?
I’d pay for this health care BS before I’d ever say I was muslim.
Obama's staff is exempt from Obamacare, and many of them are muslim.
I’m starting an Amish offshoot, the Florida Reformed Amish Church, or FRAC...
We’re adapting Amish religion to new technology..,
For example we ban video games, but allow night vision goggles. Notebook computers are allowed, but ipads are not. Hybrid cars are a no no, but V-8’s are appropriate technology.
You must look good in black.
Is there yet a list of all religious groups that get exemptions?
