Stupak Called 'Baby Killer' on House Floor
FOXNews.com ^ | March 22, 2010

Even after the main vote on the Democrats' health bill Sunday night, tempers continued to flare in the House.

Following the vote on the massive health bill, Republicans challenged the Democratic bill's language barring federal funding of abortions, saying it was weak and would effectively allow public funding for abortions.

Rep. Bart Stupak of Michigan, who had fought for tough language barring federal subsidies for abortion coverage, denounced the Republican move, saying it was nothing more than an attempt to deny 32 million Americans health care. From the Republican side a voice shouted, "Baby killer!"

It was not immediately clear who had called out the epithet.

Rep. John Campbell (R-Calif.), said it wasn't him.

"I don't think it’s appropriate at all," he told Politico. "The people who know won't give it up," Campbell said. "I'm not casting dispersions on that state" in a reference to lawmakers from Texas.

Republican Rep. Joe Barton of Texas said he heard the scream but wouldn't say who was responsible.

"I can make a guess," Barton told reporters.

Fox News is searching for the source of the remark.

“I don’t think it’s appropriate at all,”

Oh yeah? Well, I don’t think it’s appropriate to violate the Constitution, lie to the American people, and ramrod devestating legislation through the House in spite of what your constituents want. But yes, I can see where namecalling is worse.

Bart Stupak made an @ss of himself. He should have never bothered with his big public displays of antagonism to abortion

I think the 0bama-Bots got something on him. Maybe he kissed his roommate in college at a boozed up frat party

How many times did these scumbags refer to Republicans and GW as nazi’s, hitler, etc.?

They were never chastised! They were also very incorrect in their description of us and GW.

However, “baby killer” is a pretty accurate way to describe Stupak and his ilk!

So what exactly is their gripe?

Without Stupak this would not pass and he knows it. That fact and his claim of opposing abortion makes him a huge hypocrite.

Whoever said “Baby Killer” is a true patriot and Godly person. Those who would denounce him must be the same sort of people who thought slavery or the Holocaust were great ideas. Now, as then, more people need to speak the truth like this.

I have an idea he will be called a lot worse things than “baby killer” before he is booted out of congress.

He killed the country and a lot of people as well!

The government can now “deem” whether you should “pass” or not.

Goodbye handicapped, elderly, and very small human beings.

A yet-to-be identified, reportedly Southern Republican congressman yelled “Baby killer!” during an address by Rep. Bart Stupak of Michigan on the House floor Sunday night.

Payoff...stupak announces $726,409 for airports in alpena, delta & chippewa counties!

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Bart Stupak (D-Menominee) announced three airports in northern Michigan have received grants totaling $726,409 for airport maintenance and improvements. The funding was provided by the U.S.

Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration.
“This federal funding will help these airports better provide critical services to communities in northern Michigan,” Stupak said. “I am pleased the FAA has made this investment in our local airports and the individuals and businesses they serve.”

Alpena County Regional Airport received a grant of $85,500 to acquire friction measuring equipment, specifically a decelermeter and tow vehicle, to replace equipment that has worn out.

Delta County Airport in Escanaba received a grant of $179,209 to install a 10 foot perimeter fence to enhance security and prevent wildlife from entering the airport.

The Chippewa County International Airport near Sault Ste. Marie received a grant of $461,700 to install lighted signs on Runway 16/34 and make repairs to the pavement to meet marking requirements and maintain structural integrity.

This funding is provided to the FAA through the regular federal appropriations process and is awarded through competitive grants.

Well now we know how bright he is, Landrieu got 300 million on the Louisiana purchase!

Yes they do. I think the book was called Blood Money. It was by and ex-abortion clinic worker. And I’ve heard of others, including abortion doctors. I heard one woman just recently. She was on foxnews but, I can’t remember her name.

Just that the rules don’t apply to them. Freedom of speech only applies to that which they agree with.

As someone up thread said, they can trampled all over the constitution and the American people but calling him a name is bad. Ugh. It’s pathetic.

I’ll bet “baby killer” is nothing compared to what Pelosi and other Dems were calling him before he flipped.
