I was in Washington DC for the protests. I realized by the time the program began Saturday that we probably did not have enough people to make a difference to the tyrants working on destroying freedom. We needed hundreds of thousands, an overwhelming number to truly make a difference.
Of course, we could have made a difference with a tenth of the amount we did have. But, it would have taken sacrifice, it would have taken courage. We could have entered our Capital building and refused entry to those who seek to destroy America. We would have been arrested, perhaps even served some time (I doubt it). But, to be blunt...that is too much to ask of us. We have our lives after all. We have our positions. We shouldn't have to risk those...there are others who do that.
After the program I took my son and walked. We walked around to the various memorials and monuments. We went into the Lincoln memorial and I read the Gettysburg Address...humbled by the image of the tremendous sacrifice our Union and Confederate soldiers made for their causes. They gave their lives, they suffered unspeakable horrors. And President Lincoln, almostly seemingly divinely inspired wrote that beautiful speech to honor them.
We walked by the Viet Nam War memorial, where you cannot walk past with a dry eye as you read all those names on those black granite panels. At each walkway entry to the monument stood guard a small contingent of flag bearing veterans. There to protect the monument to their long ago fallen comrades from the leftists who would so gladly desecrate in their horribly misguided view of what is represented by the beautiful wall. These volunteers stand quietly, without acclaim. The news media will cover and give respect to the anti-war protesters, but the lone contingents of veterans loyally protecting the honor of their fallen comrades will go unnoticed. I don't think they care much about that. I spoke with a couple of them. They had that quiet resolve that serious men with serious business have about them. I shook their hands and thanked them. They truly are the finest still in America.
My son and I walked to the Signers Of The Declaration Of Independence memorial where we read in the sidewalk:
AND FOR THE SUPPORT OF THIS DECLARATION, WITH A FIRM RELIANCE ON THE PROTECTION OF DIVINE PROVIDENCE, WE MUTUALLY PLEDGE TO EACH OTHER OUR LIVES, OUR FORTUNES AND OUR SACRED HONOR.
I contemplated on how much these few men were willing to sacrifice...they were not a poor, starving mob. Indeed, most of these men were well to do by their days standards. They were men of property. What courage, what sacrifice they made. Indeed, it is clear to me that God did have his strong hand in the making of America.
We walked to the World War II memorial. Walked around the pond and looked at the wreaths for each state. How many men and women gave their lives to liberate others for that war? How many died protecting our freedoms so that we at home could live our comfortable lives? How many suffered the horrors of war and survive to live with those horrors for the rest of their lives?
God Bless them all.
Of course we walked over to the Washington Memorial, how can anyone not give homage to the "Father of the US of A" when visiting our capital? What a great man he was/is, his undying, unwavering courage and spirit that kept him going even when the worse was in front of him with no real hope for getting to the other side. How humble to truly grudgingly become the first President, turning down the offers for kingship...
We finally went over to the Jefferson Memorial. This has always been my favorite. I have yet to keep a dry eye when reading Mr. Jefferson's beautiful words of freedom and dignity. Inside the memorial at the top are some of his most beautiful and dramatic:
I HAVE SWORN UPON THE ALTAR OF GOD ETERNAL HOSTILITY AGAINST EVERY FORM OF TYRANNY OVER THE MIND OF MAN.
What are these men thinking today? Are they saddened, angry? Are they proud of our Tea Parties? Are they proud of the states that intend on declaring their sovereignty from a tyrannical federal government?
Do they think that America died without a shot being fired? Without so much more than a whimper of protest?

Thank you for posting. I am extremely down and gathered strength from your words.
But the point that will not go away in this is that a majority of the American people chose this path. They have discovered that servitude seems a small price to pay for receiving such splendid benefits as the federal government offers.
You can almost hear the grunts and squeals in the background and smell the barnyard of the new order.
No amount of legal maneuvering against one law or another will change that attitude, once it is entrenched.

The walk with my son to the various memorials and contemplation helped me. That was one of my objectives in writing this. To remind us of where we come from and what we are about. This is so much bigger than anyone one of us, we don’t have time for feeling bad for too long, we have much to do! And think, what a glorious task in front of us! No sitting on a porch in a rocking chair for our old age...we will strive for glory!

My take is that our counter-revolution will move into Stage Two: Civil Disobedience (not paying taxes, strikes etc.), intense pressure put on Democommie politicians (Up close and personal confrontations), Acts of sabotage, The open formation of militias, and peaceful political activities such as larger Tea Party protests and intense support for the election of Republican majorities in Congress in November.
If Stage II is not successful, the Patriots will go to Stage III - which is civil war with the end goal of the overthrow of federal government.

Read the opening paras of the Declaration of Independence to all and sundry - it is our obligation to depose these people. (Substitute Barack Hussein Obama for George III).
Just be ready and advise all concerned that they must be prepared to take the consequences for their actions: separating the men from the boys, so to speak.
That's the real question, and it needs answering.
First, I would think that we need to let the election in November play out and see how it goes. But I have little hope that we can reverse what happened much less what is about to happen legislatively by rule of law.
I think a contingency plan needs to be in the works as we proceed to November.
I think we need to gather together two thirds of the American States and begin the process of reformation as if the DC government had been destroyed. It should comply with the current constitution as written and before amended by the likes of Teddy Roosevelt and all those populist progressives who followed. At some point we DEEM the current government as illegitimate and corrupt and seize control. Blockade the coastal States that will certainly defy us and remake the government in a new capitol city with new delegates elected and appointed as was the case with the Senate. We elect a new president.
We clean out all the corner where the socialists and commies hide, and we cut ourselves off from there European benefactors.
In other words we do it right and with malice.
If the election makes it possible to do a similar thing, then we do it that way, but I don't think that is the way it will go and I have no confidence that scotus will be of any use as it will soon be a Obama court.
At a point in this process we will have two separate and distinct governments claiming the mantle of control and this may be messy, but so was our founding.
I think the term "Re-founding" is a good term to use.

I am beginning to think those are just pretty words. I really don’t see how to get out of this mess without a war and that is going to be kind of difficult with our society as it is.

America has not died, it cannot die. America lives within each freedom loving individual. That is God’s gift to us, life, which means we have the right to that life, and hence to defend that life. We have the right to be free, God gave each of us free will and intends for us to be free from man as well. Proof of this is the fact that nobody, no entity can kill freedom. Indeed, the Soviet Union proved that in modern times. The underground economy was estimated to be as large as the controlled economy and dealing in the underground economy had great risk, but they could not kill the free market and free loving people. God created these.
So, what these tyrants are doing is ultimately going to fail, the most important goal now for us is to make sure it fails sooner rather than later. There is no reason for our children or grandchildren to fight this fight. It is ours...and it is our responsibility.
We must fight them on every level at every chance. We must work hard to elect Republicans this November. We must work to expose the criminal activities of unions, community organizers, democrat politicians, judges, etc. We need to put a real damper on their infrastructure, impede their media from performing by shutting down their places of business’s peacefully with sit-ins.
We must be courageous to take risk of arrest...it will be necessary to take some risk, we must not shirk from it.
We will win, there are huge forces of good people who are fighting. Besides the brave Republican warriors in Washington, there are state governments, pro life groups, freedom loving groups and tea party patriots all fighting against tyranny.
We just have to act and not just talk...we need to organize local groups. We need to do what our founding fathers did and stand tall for the people.
