The anti-abortion Susan B. Anthony List group announced tonight they will strip Rep. Bart Stupak of the "Defender of Life" award that he's received several times. The group blasted Stupak's role in forging a compromise with the White House on abortion language in an executive order and said he is no longer truly "pro-life."
The group says President Obama's executive order was "unacceptable" and they are redoubling efforts to elect "true" pro-life candidates.
SBA List Candidate Fund President Marjorie Dannenfelser issued a statement saying the group had been planning to honor Stupak (D-MI) for his efforts at their Campaign for Life Gala scheduled for Wednesday. "We will no longer be doing so. By accepting this deal from the most pro-abortion President in American history, Stupak has not only failed to stand strong for unborn children, but also for his constituents and pro-life voters across the country," Dannenfelser said in the statement.
Women's groups criticized Obama for the order as well.
The SBA List statement said lawmakers who vote for the health care bill "can no longer call themselves 'pro-life.'"
More from the statement:
The Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund will not endorse, or support in any capacity, any Member of Congress who votes for this bill in any future election. Now through Election Day 2010, these representatives will learn that votes have consequences. The SBA List Candidate Fund will work tirelessly to help defeat Members who support this legislation and make sure their constituents know exactly how they voted. We will actively seek out true pro-life candidates to oppose Members who vote 'yes' on this bill, whether it be in general or primary elections. For these Members, it will be a quick downhill slide to defeat in November. The executive order on abortion funding does absolutely nothing to fix the problems presented by the health care reform bill that the House will vote on this evening. The very idea should offend all pro-life Members of Congress. An executive order can be rescinded at any time at the President's whim, and the courts could and have a history of trumping executive orders. Most importantly, pro-abortion Representatives have admitted the executive order is meaningless.
The group detailed their efforts in the health care fight as, "nearly $2 million on a grassroots campaign of targeted television and radio ads, 1.3 million automated calls, 70,000 patch-through constituent calls, 1.2 million letters and petitions to Congress, two media and grassroots tours in pro-life Democratic districts, television ads in six districts and comprehensive polling in 20 pro-life Democratic districts."
I wonder how many Catholics (CINOs and the real ones) plus pro-life people contributed to these people.
Stupak’s gang - “cause killin babies on Sunday is the right thing for Stupak to do.”
Stupak sold out babies to a Muslim on a Sunday.

Luke 4:5-8
4:5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
4:6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
4:7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
All pro-life organizations should immediately announce they will never again support any demonrat, if they are to have credibility.
You cannot support the Rats and be pro-life. That would be contradictory
I hope Stupidpak gets his a$$ royally kicked so hard to the curb that his progeny will be born with a bootprint ingrained on their hindquarters. The day will come when we will use a red hot branding iron to permanently burn a mark into the flesh of these traitors... Then again, we may dispense with that formality and just hang them outright.
This sham of an executive order will be rescinded at the very first political opportunity by the abortion enthusiast in the White House, and millions more babies will be massacred at taxpayer expense. I wonder what the Copay will be. Fifty dollars probably.
So far I don’t see it happening. I keep wondering what it’s going to take until we hear stories involving bullets, gasoline, and thermite, but I think it’s actually going to take the Left making the first move. That said, the Left is probably still too smart for that — for instance, if Obama’s minions ever decided to try an L.A. Riots on my street, I GUARANTEE that none of them would get within 100’ of my position.
National Right to Life were fooled into beleiveing he was and bullied the Republicans into supporting the Stupak bill back in Novemeber.
They are a foolish, evil organization.
O-bastard does not even need to rescind his E.O. An E.O. has no authority beyond the Executive branch of influence. Legislation and statute law cannot be over-ruled by an E.O. ... That is what makes Stupidpak’s capitulation so grossly pathetic.
Co-pay on abortions? I bet Obama will give the woman killing her baby a $50 voucher and credit the abortion mill $5,000. They will have express lines. Stupak did this on a Sunday. Obama and Rahm picked Sunday to rub it in Christians faces.
We need to quit buying pigs in a polk.
We need to make them feel heat, too.
Stupak made the difference.
.....a TRAGIC story. Stupak is a FOOL, and will go down in history as a sell-out; a sad PUNK. He coulda been a contender. So close. Then he SOLD OUT.
.......the Tragedy unfolds.........
So sorry for anyone in Michigan....and Country-wide.
