Worth posting if only because one of the few things the left and right agree on today is that Obama’s executive order is essentially meaningless. Liberals, per dKos, David Corn, and Ezra Klein, think the Senate bill already does what Stupak wants it to do by maintaining the status quo on abortion funding, which means the EO is gratuitous. Pence thinks the Senate bill is a sharp break from the status quo, but since an EO is flimsy to begin with and an EO on this subject from someone as adamantly pro-choice as The One is even flimsier, it’s not worth the paper it’s printed on. Consensus: Stupak achieved nothing. Which is news to no one this afternoon except, I guess, Stupak himself. Or is it?
As I write this, Stupak’s congressional opponent has picked up two thousand fans on Facebook in about two hours. Ten thousand by tomorrow, I’ll bet.
Update: Instantly, the pressure on Obama to roll back the order begins.

When you see someone about to do something based on blatantly false reassurances, you can warn him/her not to be Stupak.
If a girl you know complains that her sweet lovable new boyfriend, who everyone else knows is a sleasebag, comes home crying, bruised and dirty, you can tell her she was Stupak.
When Obama rescinds or modifies the EO that Stupak sold his soul to buy — which he can do with a stroke of the same pen that signed it — you can send him and email telling him he is a STUPAK STUPAK.

The real skunk in the woodpile is Joseph Cao. If he had not voted the way he did late last year, we wouldn’t be where we are today. He needs to be taken out of politics permanently along with most Republicans and all the Dems.
You have to admire the slimy strategies of the Dems. Get one guy with a small coalition to say he won’t vote because of blah-blah-blah. Put him out front and let him say he’s trying to make it better. Then at the last minute give him what he wants by meaningless EO and he brings a bunch of people with him to vote yes. All a game. What part of “Thou shalt not kill” do people not get? Makes for great drama and gives time to work on arm-twisting.
Anybody who believes the EO, if it actually exists, will be enforced is smoking some pretty hot dope.

Doesn’t being “pro-life” also include opposing death panels, euthanasia, force famioly planning and eugenics? Because all of that is just down the road, via ObamaCare and Dr. Emanuel’s “Life Index”, which Bart Stupak has made law with his vote today.
