Whip Count Shocker! “No” Vote Shifts/Politicians Lie
IBD's Capital Hill ^ | 3/21/20100 | Ed Carson

Calif. Rep. Loretta Sanchez will show up to vote, her office says. While she’s given indications that she’d vote no, she was a very late “yes” last November. Meanwhile, Virginia Rep. Rick Boucher, who had been a solid no until a few days ago, now says he’s “undecided.” There are 206 yes votes, 207 no votes along with perhaps 9 Stupak Democrats and 9 undecided Dems, Firedoglake now says.

Meanwhile, a noon Stupak press conference was canceled.

I don’t care if a dem voted no. if they did let them stay in the democrat party. They ran as dems, stayed with the party during this turbulent discussion...they are democrats. I don’t want one of them in the Republican party. They will always vote the democrat line...even if they pretend to be Republicans. Look at all the Rinos we have now..they are nothing but trouble.

I have no one to call. My rep is a solid yes vote. They won’t take calls from outside their districts as evidenced by asking for name, address, zip and telephone number.

One big charade.

The fight, imo, is over who GETS to vote NO. Not who WILL vote NO.

Bingo! This is what I think as well. I don't trust Democrats to EVER do the right thing. This is all about politics in the next election.

We need to vote out ALL Democrats and most of the Democrat-lite Republicans in November. Never let the progressive cancer back into power.

Let’s see if darwinistic tendencies override the dem’s willingness to be led to the slaughter by voting yes on this bill.

Boehner: “Pro-Life” Democrats Can’t Hide Behind an Executive Order

Rec’d via e-mail | Sunday, March 21, 2010 | John Boehner

Posted on Sunday, March 21, 2010 12:10:31 PM by kristinn

GOP Leader: “Make no mistake, a ‘yes’ vote on the Democrats’ health care bill is a vote for taxpayer-funded abortions.”

WASHINGTON, DC – House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statement on a potential Executive Order from the White House on abortion:

“The law of the land trumps any Executive Order, which can be reversed or altered at the stroke of a pen by this or any subsequent President without any congressional approval or notice. Moreover, while an Executive Order can direct members of the executive branch, it cannot direct the private sector.

“Because of Roe v. Wade, courts have interpreted the decision as a statutory mandate that the government must provide federal funding for elective abortion in through federal programs. In other words, no Executive Order or regulation can override a statutory mandate unless Congress passes a law that prohibits federal funding from being used in this manner. Legal experts at the US Catholic Conference of Bishops, National Right to Life Committee, Americans United for Life, and Family Research Council have confirmed this view that if the Senate bill is signed into law, it is a statutory mandate for the new health plans to include federal funding of elective abortion. The need for an Executive Order is evidence that this is true, and Congressional Democrats know it. Make no mistake, a ‘yes’ vote on the Democrats’ health care bill is a vote for taxpayer-funded abortions.”

Obama will reverse the abortion exclusion right before he leaves office in 3 years. Stroke of the pen change.
