U.S. Representative Tim Bishop of Southampton announced on Friday that he will vote in favor of the Senate’s version of the federal health care overhaul bill that is coming the House’s way in the next few days.

With that declaration, Mr. Bishop became the 199th expected “yes” vote on the legislation. The Democrats need a total of 216 ayes to pass the bill, which could be put to a vote as soon as Sunday. Thirty-two congressman have yet to indicate which way they will vote.

He was likely to vote this way all along, I believe.

They're dribbling out as many Yes votes as they can here to keep the momentum.

I expect some NO votes are going to come out at the very end.

Bishop must not have any kids or grandkids. If he does, he sure as hell doesn’t give a damn about their future. We need to demand a new wall in D.C. with the names of every bass turd that votes for this monstrosity engraved into it. Americans must never be allowed to forget who the traitors and destroyers of America were.

Last minute back room deals. Where it gets real down and dirty.

"Thirty-two congressman have yet to indicate which way they will vote."

The remaining yes votes will be announced in the dead of the night, after they are paid 20 pieces of silver. Hopefully the same fate that Judas received will apply.

I actually think that it will be better if this bill passes. It will do little or nothing to insure the poor and the upfront costs will hurt the economy. This will be a good thing for Republicans in Nov. and possibly as far out as 2012.

I am in this district and believe me there was no doubt at all that Bishop was going to vote for this. This is simply to give the appearance of “momentum”.

When will the announcement come that they are going to delay the vote for more arm twisting and threats?

I couldn't care less about helping republicans when my freedom is at stake. After this is passed, and republicans take over, you think it will get repealed? Or would you just feel better with republicans controlling your life?

You got that right. There is no chance of it getting repealed when we have “republicans” like Linda Grahmnesty and Juan McLame. As long as they can get in front of a camera, or behind some certain guys, they will let everything slide just like the democrats want.

Yes, I would expect it to be repealed. Isn’t that what they are saying? Healthcare costs must be brought under control somehow and I think the republican plans make more sense and restrict our freedoms less. It’s the price we pay for being crammed together as we are.
