Matt 15:26 — He [Jesus] replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to their dogs.”
When they, invariably, bring up that Jesus granted the request the woman had made [see all of ch 15] reply that it was not because she wanted to take the Children’s [rightful] food, but only to take that which they did not [in their plenty] care for. IOW, she respected Jesus’ place of authority and position as being sent to the Jews, yet appealed to Him on those very grounds... that she would not ‘take’/steal what Jesus could give, but that Jesus could give more than they could take/’want’.
[And yes, I can tell that people will be offended by the analogies.]
