HA!
Unbelievable...the “Deacon” gave our homily today about
not casting the first stone” which then morphed into a “Anti Death Penalty “Diatribe! On and on and on. I sat there thinking....”social relativism”. When he finsihed his “speech”, about 1/3 of the parishoners CLAPPED....WHAAAAT???
I really had to deal with my anger, thinking “So what will you counsel the returning young vets from combat or the guy that sends out the drones?”
It is my parish, and fortunately the priest today was our young Polish priest.Hee. Hee. I don’t think his parents would have given the Commie thugs “his coat”.
You know, more courageous would have been to refer the stoning that continues to this day in Arab countries...but then...Oh well.
Not casting the first stone!
Same as homily as my husband heard, but his priest took a political direction that favored demcorats.
It was ugly.
I dreaded going to church this morning, because I anticipated a leftist sermon about the vote. I’ve had a dispute with our rector in the recent past about his political preaching from the pulpit. I was pleasantly surprised that he steered clear of it.
Just wait till the Parish Priests preach about amnesty for the Illegals. "I was a Stranger and you welcomed me in"...blah, blah, blah.

Then I should like him to explain the following passages:
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis%209:1-6&version=NIV
http://www.biblebrowser.com/numbers/35-30.htm
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Deuteronomy+22:25&version=NIV
I should also like him to explain why, if she was caught in adultery (which cannot be done alone), there was no man being accused either.
>On and on and on. I sat there thinking....social relativism.
I have a God who is Absolute; because He defines Morality, Morality is, itself, absolute. Yes, there are things that ARE relative to a culture, like whether looking in the eye is respectful or defiant... but that one should respect/honor one’s parents ISN’T relative.
>When he finished his speech, about 1/3 of the parishioners CLAPPED....WHAAAAT???
Agreed. I’m glad I wasn’t there... I’d probably have [gotten angry] called him a liar and ran him out of [the] church.
