Israeli aircraft struck two targets in the Gaza Strip on Friday a day after a rocket fired from the Palestinian enclave killed a Thai worker in Israel, Hamas security officials and witnesses said.

There were no reported injuries in either strike. In one, missiles struck an open area near the town of Khan Younis. Another, near Gaza City, it a metal foundry.

The Israeli military had no immediate comment.

Vice Prime Minister Silvan Shalom had said Israel would make a strong response to what was the first deadly rocket fire from Hamas-ruled Gaza at Israel in more than a year.

Israel also sent a letter of complaint to U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, who is due to visit Israel at the weekend, and the U.N. Security Council.

Unfortunately this was very predictable. After Barry had the Hildabeast excoriate Bibi about the settlements, you had to know the boys from Hamas would have to poke a stick in Israels eye by launching a few rockets. It seems the terrorists might have made an error, because when they killed the immigrant farm worker, they gave Israel an excuse to strike back.

Now some radio reports from mid-east are indicating ground troops may be involved, which would be a major escalation. Barry bears a great responsibility for this by acting like the petulent child he is when he felt slighted by Bibi.

Too bad...I hope he’s not thinking of the US when he’s acting on something so important as Israel’s safety.
