Leading a revolt against President Barack Obama’s healthcare legislation over abortion has been a “living hell” for Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.).
The telephone lines in his Washington and district offices have been “jammed” and he’s gotten more than 1,500 faxes and countless e-mails — most of which he says don’t come from his constituents.
The fight has taken a toll on his wife, who has disconnected the phone in their home to avoid harassment.
“All the phones are unplugged at our house — tired of the obscene calls and threats. She won’t watch TV,” Stupak said during an hourlong interview with The Hill in his Rayburn office. “People saying they’re going to spit on you and all this. That’s just not fun.”
Stupak has become a nationally known figure because of his demands for tough language in healthcare legislation to prevent any federal subsidies from being used for abortion services.

MI has never been known for its constitutionalism. People there have more faith in government than in most other states, but they’ve got lot of competition.
The First District is a vast tundra—most are individualists. Stupak is from so far west, he is only a few miles from Green Bay. He is no representative of his district.

The Country is getting a hard lesson in Liberty. Hopefully an adequate response will follow in the upcoming elections.

He got it. Michigan is in the list of states that get economic ‘stimulus’ through this bill that is attached to nothing.

With Soros’ SOS plan in full effect it’s dicey at best. I’m not giving up, but I’m not holding my breath either. This was a long thought out strategy I’m afraid.

This is from a 2007 contact list of congressional aides. Some might not be there any longer, but worth a try. The ones on the one post are senate aides, a few have bounced back, it’s worth the effort to clog up their email system along with the phones, and 1/3rd of these senators are up for re-election.

At the first number below you must wait through a tape recording urging you to tell your Rep or Senator to vote “yes” for the health care bill. Just hang on and when the recording is over, you will get the Capitol operator. Just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Then you will either talk to an aid or have the chance to leave a message for him/her to vote NO on the health care bill.
When you use the second number and the Capitol operator comes on, just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Every time I use this number I get the Rep or Senator’s answer machine, so it may be set up that way all the time...to go to their answer machine. Either way you can leave a message to vote NO on the health care bill!
We need to use these toll free numbers that have been set up for the health care/ BO supporters and illegals to use! After all they are FREE!

YES, and this is all about his 15 minutes of fame, a guy from the UP of MI, never heard of before, except to us poor schmucks who have him representing us...
For crying out loud, people - I don't care why he votes 'NO', just that he does. Heaping abuse on him, or expecting a Michigan Dem to be a rock-ribbed Republican, is foolish (IMHO)
We need to keep picking up votes where we can and encouraging every wavering representative to side with us and the American people, and hurling invective is an unlikely method, at best.
Lastly, while he did vote YES originally after the Stupak amendment was added, please remember: it was his amendment that cast the Senate Dems in such disarray that it gave time for Scott Brown to be elected and seated.
