Sean Hannity’s Freedom CONcert Scam
Debbie Schlussel Blog Post ^ | March 18, 2010 | Debbie Schlussel

Posted on 03/18/2010 12:54:44 PM PDT by TRY ONE

For the last several years, Sean Hannity and the Freedom Alliance “charity” have conducted “Freedom Concerts” across America. They’ve told you that they are raising money to pay for the college tuition of the children of fallen soldiers and to pay severely wounded war vets. And on Friday Night, Hannity will be honored with an award for this “Outstanding Community Service by a Radio Talk Show Host” at Talkers Magazine’s convention.

But it’s all a huge scam.

I can’t remember which FReeper had a thread (vanity) on that. Freepers were listed who were in “the order”. After 10 years, I’m still not in the Hall of Fame. ;(

The key thing not mentioned so far in this thread is that most of the children to be sent to college are quite young now. FA has to build up assets now to pay for college later.

So a better way than percentage spent to evaluate this type of charity might be total assets and percentage of assets spend on fund raising.

You’re right they don’t. Why do we give 501c3 status to advocates of terrorism? Inquiring minds want to know.

Guess that’s why they dropped their suit against Savage. “Discovery” would have been “priceless”.

good point. grading them on funds not spent every year (40%) range doesn’t make sense of the target group hasn’t aged yet. kind of like a college fund that some parents start when their kid is born.

i’m sure that they can cut some expenses.

After reading 565 posts here I can tell that the timing of this story was quite a success. The obama cartel must really be happy with the change in headlines. Takes some of the heat off of their Sunday SCAM.

Most are questions that have been addressed and answered several times over in both news articles and columns by well known journalists. I sometimes like essays by members.

Yes... they needed to change the focus from Obama’s failed interview on FOX... and the fact they are getting ready to obliterate the Constitution.

I do admit, there are some funny ones. Some FReepers are very creative.

Interestingly, I expected Mark Levin to post, and he didn’t. (unless I missed “holdonnow”), he was pinged a couple times.

From their page:

Freedom Alliance has established a permanent Scholarship Trust Fund to aid the children of these brave Americans so that we will be able to help the children of American heroes when it is their turn to attend college.

I think that spells it out. It’s meant to be a permanent fund. They have to invest and save.

Thanks. I see how the original article was wrong on a few things, like the $0.08, and also on the fact that the charity is investing the money to pay for the college education of young children in the future.

I certainly am not jumping to conclusions. I really like many things about Sean Hannity. He has gotten a lot of conservatism across to people who don’t hear much about it. He is very useful, a very hard worker, and I have always felt that he means very well. Why would he do something to make the Late Marty ashamed of him? I don’t see it.

But it looks bad somehow, and I would like to hear his side.
