For the last several years, Sean Hannity and the Freedom Alliance charity have conducted Freedom Concerts across America. Theyve told you that they are raising money to pay for the college tuition of the children of fallen soldiers and to pay severely wounded war vets. And on Friday Night, Hannity will be honored with an award for this Outstanding Community Service by a Radio Talk Show Host at Talkers Magazines convention.
But its all a huge scam.

Rush does....
I doubt Sean does.

I found a better way to describe this and I'll use HCR as an example. The current bill starts taxing right away and doesn't pay out benefits til 4 years after. They fudge the numbers and make it look like there is a cost savings, surplus, whatever you want to call it.
Well, FA is taking in money that they won't immediately pay out because of the ages of the potential scholarship recipients at the moment. They truly DO have a surplus that they will pay out in benefits at a later date.
The difference here is that the Democrats are fudging the numbers into making us think HCR is a good thing and cost effective and efficient when it isn't. The author of the story on FA is fudging the numbers to make us think FA is a bad thing because they've got a surplus and therefore aren't efficient (at paying out scholarships, the majority of which won't be disbursed til the recipients come of age).

maybe, but his immature temper tantrum against the same people who lobbied our cable stations to get FOX NEWS on them, well, someone should be grateful to the people who are the ONLY ONES who organized to do that and help make his paycheck
instead, 7 or 10 people out of 100,000 dont like him? So he slams 100,000 people?
CRYbaby. All because 7 or 10 people didnt like him.
and just like that, tens of thousands didnt like him. Gee, how did that happen?

Sean and his staff are very aware of Sean’s daily thread’s. Sean checks in on FR. It is THE largest Conservative gathering site.

She is no Conservative. She has an agenda. Her rant is agenda driven. Part of her agenda is to take the spot light off of Obama and his corrupt administration.

OK I get it. But if what you are saying is true, and the concerts are NOT a part of the Freedome Alliance or whatever its name is, then Hannity is completely unrelated to the disposition of the funds. And Schlussel’s whole thesis falls to the ground.
If the concerts ARE part of the operation of the corporation, then she is pretty much right, with some reservations. See my posts #261,262, where the information is straight from the Form 990 of the corporation. Those numbers are true regardless of Hannity’s relationship to the corporation.

He would have to prove that to me after his tantrum. Race and I don't always agree, but we share that view.:-)
Sean has a bug in his pants about a lot of thinks on FR, and frankly, I don't often appreciate some of the stuff either but it is what it is.
If he reads or participates here, FR mail me buddy! I'll listen.

The non-glamourshot view.

He doesn’t have to prove jack to you. He puts his name and mug on the line in defense of the Conservative movement on a daily basis. He’s had death threats against his life. He’s a big boy, he can handle it...but he should ignore anonymous posters who are weird.

Hannity does have a relationship with FA as a fundraiser, and I am not sure if he is on the board or what, but the two organizations are indeed separate. hell, it was only recently that the boards of Apple, Yahoo, Google and Microsoft were all intermixed, so it's common.

I find that kind of amusing, considering how much he talks about how criticism doesn't bother him. LOL.
I don't listen to him much any more and I've never been a real big fan, but I don't wish him ill. I hope this all gets explained properly, otherwise a lot of this is just speculation.
To: howkn
I don't know any Jack.
Don't care about Hannity. Just don't like needless attacks on anyone Conservative.
He did just that to FR and he knows it.. I am much more charitable.
To: grateful
aaack....sorry ‘bout the typos....lol
To: Cold Heat
There IS something very devastating about it IF true. You claim to be doing charity work and less than 10% is going to the cause? IF so it looks a lot more like self promotion than charity.
Call it a concert tour and give up the charity bit.

Schlussel has obviously misrepresented the numbers from the tax forms in the hope that a bunch of unsuspecting dupes would believe what she spoonfeeds them. That may work on her blog but not here. Based on some of the responses on this thread, it IS working, which is sad and pathetic!

If the concerts are NOT done on the books of Freedom Alliance, Hannity is going to have a few more dollars to contribute to charity after he wins the libel suit against Schlussel.
If they ARE on the books of Freedom Alliance, she has made her point pretty well, looking at the primary data. Don’t know exactly why she made it. That’s her business.
