Great guy. Met him years ago when he was coming off his plane. My Dad took us over and he was terrific.
I stay at The Fess Parker Hotel in Santa Barbara and love it.
Rest in Peace, kind sir.

This is very sad for me...
I also grew up with Fess Parker, and especially loved the Daniel Boone series. (Daniel and Mingo were great together.)
Fess Parker was such a gracious man with a humility that is seldom seen in celebrities today.
We’re losing all those special people that have made living in our country a joy and a blessing.
To: Southnsoul
That was very insightful and well said.

I shall open a bottle of his very fine chardonnay and toast my hero of the 50s. RIP. Chardonnay for Davey Crockett/Daniel Boone? Maybe a shot of a product of Kentucky or Tennessee would be more appropriate.

(Its like 1933, mixed with the Carter 70s, plus the books 1984 and Animal Farm, all at the same time.)

Had the hat, no jacket. As kids we'd always go over to an empty field and play "Davey Crockett and Indians." On the same Christmas morning Santa brought me the coonskin cap, he also left me a Tommy Gun.
They actually went quite well together.
