Minnesota Rep. James Oberstar, an ardent backer of the House abortion restrictions, will vote for the final package after a further review of the Senate's language, giving top Democrats a critical endorsement as they lean on their rank-and-file to back the Senate bill.

Im so sick, I cant believe this. Someone tell me I am in a dream. What is Oberstars number!
Don’t be surprised, folks.
Dems = sheep
That’s why they’re dems.
My rep. Bought, sold, paid for by Steelworkers Union. Has claimed to be prolife but uh, uh. His seat is safe.
in other words, you’re not at all surprised that he did this, then. How many others will do the same, I wonder.
All DEMS are traitors.
Barney Frank’s district voted for Scott Brown. There is no such thing as a safe seat.
A guy like Oberstar — that is, a person who would reverse his word, his morality and his ethics for political expediency — would sell off his wife, mother and daughters into an ACORN-supported business if it meant not displeasing his rulers.
Michigan guy just did it. THats 3 today according to my numbers (which is NOT scientific) I wish someone woul do something! Superman fly in or something.
Comrade Oberstar..your days are numbered.
I tried to email Oberstar, but his Congressional website will not allow it since I do not live in his district. If I could, I would ask him how he can reconcile his pro-life stance with his pro-abortion vote, considering that the Senate bill will empower the Executive Branch to mandate abortion coverage among all private insurers. And yes, that means that whichever company handles insurance coverage for the Catholic Church in Michigan will now be forced to offer abortion coverage. And that means that nuns, priests, and other church employees will be funding abortion via their premiums. Oberstar can explain that one to God.
I’m seriously thinking of major changes to my investment portfolio if this thing really does start to look like it will pass. My guess is the stock market takes a serious dive.
I am somewhat surprised because he initially stood with Stupak. But he’s a Rat through and through. Unfortunately, he will be bullet proof up here.
I guess if you keep reading the Senate bill over and over again, you discover some secret code that means that it doesn’t really cover abortions, even though they already admitted it covered abortions.
Oddly, the Stupak amendment didn’t cover abortions, and the Senate voted it down, and voted FOR the current Senate bill — which also proves that it covers abortions.
SO in the end, the pro-life movement, which pushed the Stupak vote as a pro-life vote, may well have led to the lifting of pro-life restrictions in health care, by forcing republicans to vote for the amendment that led to passing the house bill, even though we all knew the language would never survive.
Stupid Stupid Stupid. We are still holding out hope that democrats will do the right thing — like when do democrats ever do the right thing.
