Austin, Texas, and the entire southwest region is the No. 1 jobs market for young adults trying to escape the economic slowdown -- and get a bit of sun while they're at it, according to a new survey.
The survey by Portfolio.com shows that over the last five years Austin has added about 99,200 jobs, with an annual employment rate of 2.8 percent since 2004, the highest in the country.
Detroit was the worst performer in the survey. In the past five years the once-proud industrial city has lost around 343,700 jobs.

Quiet please - we have enough west coast democRAT lovers in the state we don’t need more. We are happy to see Toyota a good conservative non union company come to our state as well as companies like AT&T (southwest bell), but Lord save us from those west coasters.

I knew we had an unemployment problem but I didn’t know it was this bad!
Washington DC and surrounding areas also have very low unemployment rates at this time...
Gee I wonder why?
