Tell me how something is a right when you have to ask permission from a government appointee.

Your post sparked a great line of argument -

libiot:
Healthcare is a RIGHT!

American:
Oh, so you say healthcare is a right?
So I have the _right_ to get ANY healthcare I want, when I want it, at no expense to myself?

libiot:
Well, no, it has to be a reasonable and necessary treatment.

American:
Who determines “reasonable and necessary”?

libiot:
The panel on cost control.

American:
So, it’s only a “right” as far as the government gives you permission. I see.

I never said anything about rights.

This bill will allow the government to stick their fingers in your bank account. You tell the IRS that they can't. We'll see how that works.

Btw, the Old White Guys, called the Founding Fathers, set up 3 branches of government to keep balance. Your premise that asking the Supreme Court to strike down something as unConstitutional is wrong is dumb. That’s the way it was set up. A balance of power. If this bill passes, Congress will have crossed the line. The Constitutional remedy is to have it struck down.
