Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) is going a step beyond simply pledging to fight efforts to pass the health care bill -- she's openly pronouncing that people should personally declare it unconstitutional and defy it, depending on how it ends up getting passed.
At a rally at the Minnesota State Capitol on Saturday, Bachmann declared illegitimate the potential route that House Democrats could take to pass the health care bill. She was specifically railing against a parliamentary tactic by which the House could skip voting on the Senate bill by declaring it passed as part of the reconciliation bill. Bachmann pronounced this to be taxation without representation. "They have just started a revolution -- and they did it," said Bachmann.

Way to go Michelle Bachmann!!! Now if the rest of the Pubbies can man-up the way that Michelle Bachmann is. My dumb ass phd educated, brain dead libturd boss literally snorted yesterday when I mentioned Michelle Bachmann. Liberals go into a Pavlov type frothy frenzy rage whenever Michelle Bachmann (or Sarah Palin) is mentioned. What a bunch of ignorant dumb asses!
I’m from MN and the only thing I can say is that MN crazies from the Iron Range, and Twin Cities & any college towns, very stupidly, but typical for ignorant, dumb ass liberals, voted for a buffoon like Franken. And in the case of Michelle Bachmann, the liberals are always gunning for her, especially when we have an Acorn SOS Mark Ritchie (also another reason for Franken’s so called “victory”) who will do all he can to undermine the voting process and try to take Michelle down in 2010.
That's what we thought in McCain-Feingold 2002 travesty (which is why dumb ass GW Bush signed it...he thought the USSC would strike it down as unconstitutional) and in Kelo vs New London. I don't have that confidence in the USSC that they will throw it out, but rather just declare that it's part of the legislative process.
I’m thinking that isn’t going to happen anytime soon.
And believe me, I'm not throwing stones. We have the same riff raff here in the peoples republik of maryland.
I guess it's a common denominator of liberalism/socialism/communism.
“That’s what we thought in McCain-Feingold 2002 travesty”
The SC did just strike down McCain-F. Kelo is the worst decision ever. This would be a slam dunk, if they deem it passed.
Take your money out of the bank.
And you're right on with Kelo, that it was an abomination and yet allowed to remain.
This is why I have very little confidence that SCOTUS would even hear the lawsuit(s) regarding 0bozoCare or passing it with the evil Slaughter fiat. I think it is 50/50 that they would even hear it, and 90/10 that they would not rule against it.
I think the Repubs & Tea Parties have our best shot to try & defeat this by keeping pressure on the wavering demoRATs.
I keep telling that to my kids. Do you think they listen to me? No.
Kinda like NY state, liberal around cities and conservative in the rural areas.
So do I. I can’t convince hubby either. We have no savings to speak of, just SS and pension sent in direct deposit.
My D-i-L has a CD at a bank. I keep telling her to get the money. The bank told her it was safe. *sigh*
Well, we’ve done our best by warning them. They will have to pay the consequences.
