IIRC from the original story, that photo was taken at a class reunion, and that's just the reunion's "Hello, my name is..." sticker. I could be wrong, but I seem to recall discussing this before.
If it’s a high school reunion I’m pretty sure it’s a button with a picture of himself during high school. The woman next to him is wearing one as well.
