I have heard of dumber things, in the later 70s the liberals wanted to cover the poles with carbon black, melt the ice caps, to stave off the for sure coming ice age.

When I first saw this on FR yesterday, my first thought was someone has a screw loose, because the ocean floor around the world has been fertilized with millions of tons of iron and steel, from sunken ships.
