GOP Leads Backlash against Obama; Democrats Uneasy
03/15/10, 10:36 PM
(IsraelNN.com) Republican Party leaders attacked the Obama administration Monday with unusually harsh language, charging it with an "irresponsible position against an ally. "In an effort to ingratiate our country with the Arab world, this administration has shown a troubling eagerness to undercut our allies and friends, said the GOPs only Jewish Republican Congressman, Eric Cantor of Virginia.
He went so far as to say that the dispute "jeopardizes America's national security."
Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, the leading Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, charged that the Obama governments condemnations of "an indispensable ally and friend of the United States undermine both our allies and the peace process, while encouraging the enemies of America and Israel alike.
She noted that President Obama has taken "softer approaches" towards the Palestinian Authority, Syria and Iran.
Senator Sam Brownbacks office stated, It' is hard to see how spending a weekend condemning Israel for a zoning decision in its capital city amounts to a positive step towards peace."
Democrats also are uneasy over the crisis, which comes only eight months before Congressional elections. Polls have shown that President Obamas political stature is sinking.
She (Laura Rozenof of Politico.com) quoted a senior Democratic foreign policy leader as saying that the failure of top Obama officials and Mitchell to make contact with Congressman is the the same exact mistake of the first two Clinton years with majorities in both Houses. You'd think they would have learned the lesson of 'never take your allies for granted' at least after this year."
Veteran Middle East peace negotiator Aaron David Miller told Rozen, "The tree they're up on this one is very tall. Paradoxically, it may be up to Bibi [Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu] to help them climb down."

interesting post.
My guess is that - no matter how Bibi may attempt to help, it will be thrown back in his face.
This thug is hellbent on insulting our allies.
He was raised by marxists and mentored by marxists.
He looks at your observations and only sees evil capitalism.
There are many in here who live and breath for Romney bashing...24/7.
I wouldn't waste spit on him, myself, but he's hardly the most pressing issues in our lives right now. We have raging fires to put out.
In one of his book, he stated that he shared his mother’s skepticism towards religion. Furthermore, for much or most of his life, he hung around Communists and other Radical Leftists, and they tend to be atheists or at least non-religious.
I agree.
Thank you for posting this.
He also said, no one will lose their current plan, or have to change their doctor....yada, yada, yada. He bowed to every muslim he encountered.
He also bowed to the Emperor of Japan, didn’t he? If he wanted to lie, why wouldn’t he say he was a Christian instead. It would be more effective, wouldn’t it? Also, while Muslims may practice Taqiyya, I doubt that they would go as far as attending a Christian church, even one such as Wright’s. They would consider it either blasphemy and/or apostacy.
In fact he did say he was a Christian, after being corrected On ABC's "This Week" with George Stephanopoulos
