At the last minute a Senate committee removed draconian language that would criminalize criticism of homosexuality with fines and imprisonment from a bill, just before the Massachusetts Senate voted on it on Thursday. The language had been slipped into a school "anti-bullying" bill. This is a clear victory for the pro-family movement!

This would have been very extreme. (And apparently it was intended to target MassResistance in particular, given our outspokenness at the State House and online.) Similar laws have been used in Canada and other countries to snuff out free speech and religious expression regarding the homosexual movement, and severely prosecute offenders. This has been a goal of the homosexual movement in America. They will likely attempt this again -- and spread it to other states.

It would have been interesting to see this challenged by a protest and then taken to the Supreme Court if need be.

Of course, under this language if a group of Christians went in front of gay bar and said some of the most offensive things possible, they would fall under the anti-bullying law.
As long as people's lives aren't being threatened, or there isn't libel going on that would effect a specific person's reputation, this speech would have been protected by the Constitution whether over the internet or on a picket sign.
It certainly is a troubling trend though, what is your opinion on the Phelps anti-gay protesting case being reviewed by the Supreme Court?
As much as I despise the man, do you think it would be a bad precedent for the laws keeping him away from public areas (within earshot or eyesight of a burial) to be deemed Constitutional?

Funny they would want to criminalize such a thing considering the number of homos in prison. I mean, what is the first thing someone says about someone going to prison? They say things like, “Hope you don’t become someone’s bitch”, or something about prison rape, etc. Why? Because homosexuality is a mental illness and many is prison are homos.

Predatorial perceptions: they keep claiming for their rights when people are genuinely warry of their drug and sex pushy behaviors. They are unproven criminals, yet. They only move when they have assurances the government is there to protect their rape interests. Indeed, it is a behavior, not a physical color, and it becomes highly disturbing that new generations are taught to tolerate this intolerance, becoming lawyers, cops and what not.
