Obama seeks to reassure seniors on health care

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio (AP) - With a fresh sense of urgency, President Barack Obama sought to reassure seniors Monday about health care legislation approaching a final vote in Congress, pledging it would make preventive care cost-free and close a gap in Medicare prescription drug coverage.

"This proposal adds almost a decade of solvency to Medicare," Obama said in a visit to a senior center.

Obama's trip to Ohio marked his third out-of-town foray as he tries to build support for long-stalled legislation to remake the health care system.

“make preventive care cost-free”

NOTHING IS “COST FREE”.

Anything that Obamacare does about “Cost” is ALL cost-shifting, from your private expenses and decisions to taxpayer financed government decisions;

and in the end, the “costs” of the total (new taxes + new private costs due to the taxes) will increase, for everyone.

When a later law contravenes a provision of an earlier law, usually the earlier law yields. I don’t think a HIPAA challenge could upset Bummercare per se, although their implementation may have to meet HIPAA standards.

http://spectator.org/blog/2010/03/15/the-health-care-shell-game-beg

It definitely isn’t going to look anything like what’s been put out there, and this is already well known.

“Shortly before midnight on Sunday, Democrats released a 2,309 page health care bill that will start the process of reconciliation — but don’t let that fool you, it’s not the actual reconciliation bill with all the changes you’ve been reading about. Instead, as Rep. Paul Ryan, the ranking Republican member on the Budget Committee, explained to me last week, this is just the “shell” bill — the vehicle that Democrats need to get moving on health care. Once the bill gets approved (likely Monday), Democrats will send this phantom bill over to the Rules Committee, where it will be stripped, and then they’ll insert in all of the actual changes that they’ve negotiated. “

Cynically, this could effect change in the indicated direction if not actually matching those numbers. The number of Medicare providers will probably plummet as Bummercare puts more onerous requirements and imposes lower reimbursements on them. Elders waiting for Medicare will die off faster, and the rate of Medicare billable visits will decline. Hence Medicare keeps afloat a little longer.

“THE ECONOMICS OF EUTHANASIA
Health Care for Aging Babyboomers Will Bankrupt USA, Says Greenspan”

“Over the next twenty-five years, 76 million babyboomers will reach retirement age. Many elite policymakers warn that the only way to prevent the cost of their health care from bankrupting the nation will be to “ration” medical care — or, to put it another way, to withhold needed care from tens of millions of aging babyboomers and simply allow them to die.

Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan warned of the coming health care crisis at a Senate Budget Committee hearing on Thursday. In reference to what he called the “long-running problems that loom as the nation’s baby boomers begin to claim Social Security and Medicare benefits,” Mr. Greenspan said:

“I fear that we may have already committed more physical resources to the baby boom generation in its retirement years than our economy has the capacity to deliver. I do not see how we can avoid significant curtailment of the benefits currently promised.”

Hillary Clinton attempted to address this problem in her 1993 health-care plan — commonly dubbed “HillaryCare” — which would have given the U.S. government the power to decide who lives and who dies (see “A Guide to the Clinton Health Plan” by Robert E. Moffit, Heritage Foundation, November 19, 1993).

When the American people rejected HillaryCare — Democrats finally abandoned the plan in August 1994 — George Soros picked up the ball, creating the so-called Project on Death in America, whose practical effect was to implement HillaryCare through the private sector, by training and indoctrinating medical professionals to begin a quiet program of rationing on their own initiative (see “Soros and Schiavo,” March 26, 2005).

UPDATE 04.25.05: LifeTree.org provides a detailed timeline, with many links, showing exactly how Soros’ Project on Death contributed to the change in legal and medical policies that sent Terri Schiavo to her grave.

“Soros and Schiavo”

“We should consider laws that permit next of kin to decide to forgo life sustaining medical interventions even when a patient’s wishes are not known,” said George Soros in a speech of November 30, 1994, delivered at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.

In that speech, Soros announced the launch of his Project on Death in America, a program designed to steer U.S. medicine toward a rationing system whereby only the fit received proper care, while the unfit – such as Terri Schiavo – were written off and allowed to die. In the same speech, Soros said:

“Can we afford to care for the dying properly? The number of people dying in the United States currently stands at 2.2 million annually. Increases in cancer and AIDS deaths and the aging of the baby boomers will cause this figure to climb faster than the population… The fear is that the dying of the elderly will drain the national treasury. … Aggressive, life-prolonging interventions… are much more expensive than proper care for the dying.”

Over the next ten years, Soros’ Open Society Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation poured $200 million into Project on Death in America.

Remember that it only took $140 million for Soros and his fellow Pewgate conspirators to bamboozle Americans into surrendering their precious right of free political speech, via the McCain-Feingold Act of 2002 (see “Pewgate: The Battle of the Blogosphere.”) How much more could they buy with $200 million?

The change in the legal and medical climate which paved the way for Terri Schiavo’s bureaucratic murder arose directly from the work of Soros’ Project on Death in America.

Yes as long as you stay healthy on Medicare all will be fine, it’s when you get sick that the problems will come in! Your flu shots are covered, your cancer treatments not so much.

Not to mention that the number of dead over a certain age, coupled with something that unleashes or otherwise gets at the money from their estates in spending, will simply ‘fund’ a shortfall. Because it is a short fall to drop a blue pill in a senior’s mouth or IV drip...vaccine or food.

If that doesn’t work, of course, you can simply STARVE THEM in other ways. A cost of doing business.

The workers are taxed for years “before” any system is put into place. Barry will be long gone when this scheme is put into place. Therefore, yes, there is money to burn before “The System” is in place. Free, freshly printed money.

This “Messiah” is a genius. Why didn't Washington or Jefferson think about this great revenue generator?

Wouldnt it be great if Pelosi Reid and Obama all died of massive heart attacks at the exact same time? I would settle for a lightning strike.
