A decennial tradition that dates back 220 years to the days of George Washington continues today when federal census forms start arriving at more than 120 million households across the United States.
But hanging over this 23rd U.S. census are concerns about a decline in participation.
While the U.S. census has always evoked some resentment toward the feds for poking their nose into people's business, there's a sense that America's distrust of the government has reached greater heights and could contribute to poor census returns.

I saw that earlier. We just crossed posts on this. Something doesn’t pass the smell test here. I called in some cavalry...
Thats because we the peeps know the WH census will be skewed in the end anyway.
They will just make up things to favor RATs in the elections.
Cue Blue Oyster Cult?
I definitely have mixed feeling about the census - mainly because government has become so intrusive. I believe that there’s more than a fair amount of evidence to support the claim that census data was used to assist in the plan to intern Japanese-Americans after American entry into WWII. I don’t believe that will happen again, but government denial that such assistance occurred makes me cringe when I hear “I’m from the government and I’m here to help you.”
Questions 8 and 9 are the most troubling to me. For all the talk of having a color blind society, the government does ask a lot of questions about color and race. And yes they asked questions on race in 1790 - but race was not used for the myriad of programs then that it is now.
The above is speaking for myself. Mrs. Fury and her daughter will have to decide how they will fill out the Census form. That is their decision.
“did it ever occur to you that this isnt my first account here? “
So what was your previous handle?
*You’ve aroused the attention of D-sheare, not that this means anything other than your night is gonna go down the rabbit hole*
Ah, the cavalry has arrived. This is a rather interesting one. They’ve shut up entirely once called out...
RE: “Im actually looking forward to a brownshirt showdown.”

Me too — they’ll have to pass the “Don’t Tread on Me” and NRA stickers to even get to the front door and I seriously doubt they will risk it here in sissified L.A.
That would make a good initial response when they show up, "Ah, I see the brownshirts have arrived".
RE: “Well, enjoy yourself then. I think people are making mountains out of molehills. There is nothing wrong with filling out the census with the information that has BEEN on ALL censuses since they began.”

We don’t care — we are not in a cooperative mood at present. Hope you get the long form and have fun filling it out. Any questions asked on short form are available to the govt. Let them go look for it; the idiots are already on the payroll — give ‘em something to do.
Re: “ I still wont answer anything more than number, ages, and citizenship (American).”

That is precisely ALL I will answer to, given my present state of mind.
Of course you can do whatever you choose. It was just a statement. It is correct that I’m not a noobie, been here forever.
Is there some regulation I’m not aware of that says we must only post to those who post to us?
According to the link in post #159, and my printout of the questions in post #161, it doesn’t ask for citizenship.
Of course not. It just seemed odd that you responded to a post that raised some direct concerns about the addressee.
Where’d ya go boy?
We got questions for ya just like the census you love so much.
I just wrote FU Obama (spelled out) and mailed it in. Think they’ll come get me? Oh, I did write the constitutionally required information, if semi-illegibly.
You wouldn’t find me knocking on strangers doors either! No matter what the pay. All you have to do is read this thread to know it’s a risky thing to do...not to mention the real kooks out there.
Like that would stop the Obama administration.
Especially when representing a government that's already seen by a vast majority of Americans as intrusive. A recipe for disaster in any number of areas. No wonder they're having trouble getting enough people to volunteer.
Are you aware that the Feds used census data to round up Japanese Americans on the Left Coast during WWII? There’s nothing to stop them from doing it now!
