I hope the Republicans in Congress are fully prepared to challenge the constitutionality of this unbelievable trick in court.

“Last year, the House was passing bills without reading them. This year, they’re passing bills without voting on them.”

###########

I hope this stays in the front of peoples minds for a long time. There are absolutely no words to describe the despicable behavior of this government...

Congressmen will not vote on Obamacare to save the Obama adminstration.

This is an election year. All members in the House will have to face voters in meetings this year which is an election year in order to get reelected. They are all keenly aware of the anger at the healthcare plan and that is why they have avoided townhall meetings last year.

That cannot happen this year if they wish to be reelected.

They will only vote for this monstrosity if they believe their personal interests to get reelected are advanced, not Zer0’s.

No, Obamacare will go down in flames.

Isn’t it likely that the Supreme Court would rule such shennigans unconstitutional?

This reeks of criminality. Is it enough just to throw these conniving bums out of office?

In many ways, this could be the final Waterloo. Everyone knows, from city councils, to county councils, to state legislatures, and up until recently Congress, that all bills have to be voted on. Yeas and Nays. And those that pass move on to law.

If they try to slaughter this, the people around the country will go balistic. Especially since it is a very unpopular bill.

I predict two things to happen. 1. The Slaughter provision becomes so unpopular that it kills the bill by itself. 2. The Constitutionality will be challenged and it would be easy for judges to rule it as unconstitutional. Which means that the ENTIRE bill (not parts) is unconstitutional.

Lastly, the slaughter rule would likely draw 2/3’s of the States out of the woodwork and simply refuse to honor or obey the “law”.

I can easily see the House rats vote for this so-called “Amendments Bill” to “fix” the Senate bill ... just so they can say “I didn't vote for the Senate bill! I voted to fix it!”.

I see by the end of the week that this amendment bill being passed and the House trying to deem the Senate bill passed.

I bet a sawbuck that is what will happen.

Congress cannot pass an amendment to a law that was not enacted, therefore the law must have been enacted! lol

The current process is like deliverying a baby in pieces over several days and at on the final day they can “deem” that the baby’s alive.

Why don't the AG's of the various states simply announce "If Congress purses this wholly unconstitutional strategy to pass the HC bill, we will bring suit in Federal Court the very moment it passes to block it from ever being implemented".

Go ahead Democrats, make our day. Commit political suicide for something that will never become law because you cannot find the votes legally.

I would think that Republicans (even some Democrats) would be able to argue that they were denied a vote on the issue and the whole law is null and void.

Under this scheme, House members would vote on a bill of amendments to the despised Senate bill, and the Senate bill would be “deemed” to have passed if this companion bill is approved.

So the President will then sign the despised and un-passed Senate Bill based on the promise that the Senate will pass the amendments in reconciliation?

I see Lucy getting ready to snatch the the football away from Charley Brown.

If you pull out your copy of the U.S. Constitution, you will find that in Article 1, Section 7, it clearly states that the House and Senate have to pass a bill before it is sent to the president to be signed into law.

And the bills from both houses must be identical even down to the last comma and period. (8th grade civics)

I’d support a military coup in defense of the Constitution if indeed Congress truly seeks to pass bills without even voting on them.

How far we have sunk.

If they actually claim to have passed such a law, I don't see how it's going to stand up to court challenges.

They are lemmings rushing for the cliff.

Let’s just cut to the chase. Obama is hereby “deemed” to be re-elected in 2012. Right now. So we can dispense with that trivial formal exercise formerly known as an “election.”
