Can't believe the National Review buried this nugget in the article. Disturbing, to say the least.
-----
Stupak notes that his negotiations with House Democratic leaders in recent days [about the health care plan] have been revealing. I really believe that the Democratic leadership is simply unwilling to change its stance, he says. Their position says that women, especially those without means available, should have their abortions covered. The arguments they have made to him in recent deliberations, he adds, are a pretty sad commentary on the state of the Democratic party.
What are Democratic leaders saying? If you pass the Stupak amendment, more children will be born, and therefore it will cost us millions more. Thats one of the arguments Ive been hearing, Stupak (a pro-Life Democrat opposing the bill) says. Money is their hang-up. Is this how we now value life in America? If money is the issue come on, we can find room in the budget. This is life were talking about.

Not sure how buried it was. I read it all over the internet yesterday.
Basically, human beings are a disposable drain on society.
We’ve gone from upholding the dignity and sovereignty of the individual to people being seen as disposable wards of the states. Dude, where’s my country?
Long thread on this yesterday.

They will turn this around and say its about moms who can't afford another child, and the life of the mom and other children should be protected from the additional monetary stress a baby will cause.
Yes, that IS how they think. I see this reasoning all the time on liberal forums.
“Money is their hang-up. Is this how we now value life in America?”
Hello? The Kenyan plans to pay for his communist coup by aborting the baby boomers.
One word: death panels.
I prefer to see the reality of what is taking place in the Obama, Pelosi, Reid “Final Solution.” They fully intend to do away with millions more than the unborn. The elderly, disabled, wounded patriots, and their hit list goes on. Big Brother will decide who is to be treated and who will be left to die. Read the bill and you decide for yourself. Then start praying that you are not on their list!
Re-read your history and start with 1938 Germany.
I also read this yesterday, but so far haven’t seen any discussion yet on the story I heard on today’s F&F about the suggestion that we “put down” people as we do our pets and farm animals. I guess that’s going to be the next big push?
Liberal fascists; eugenicists. Just ask Ruthie Buzzard Ginsberg. The left hides who they are. Hope is that they are being exposed by the dominant new media and the overreaching of the Obama led machine.
Let’s just see how committed Stupek is to his widely-professed position that public money should not fund abortion. I am cautiously optimistic he will not place partisan politics over his moral values but fully understand that many Democrats have the ability to rationalize anything in the name of “party”. We’ll soon see.
We all recall when that low level apparatchik bit off the man's finger, right?
He's not alone ~ take a look at how angry Pelosi gets over very minor issues ~ she'd literally like to bite off heads and chew butts ~ not just as figures of speech, but the real thing.
We need to go armed in the streets these days lest these people run out for a piece.
Hey, it was Obama himself talking about "getting skin in the game". Hope you didn't think he meant that allegorically!
...but they just love caribou, polar bear and other assorted higher life forms.
Ummm......too late for that, methinks.
Stupak may be next guy to switch party.
I’m for free birth control pills, not free abortion.
The death care bill sponsored by the party of abortion. Who is shocked by this?
Better not be the GOP that he switches to, aside from his abortion stance he’s a sack of Marxist liberal garbage - voted for Porkulus, voted for the global warming tax package and everything else rats vote for.
No thanks.
My simple reply: Adoption. The baby will find a great home, a loving family who wants another precious soul to care for will be fulfilled, the mother need not worry about monetary or religious concerns about "the procedure", and will not have to worry about the cost and logistics of raising an "unwanted" child.
Not if you deny them life-saving health-care.
They are so worried about money, but wasting money on every other government program is ok ? Doom on them...
