I watched the Mitt Romney interview on Fox News Watch with Chris Wallace this morning. I actually watched twice, I was stunned. What a debacle! Apparently, this was his opening gambit in his 2012 Presidential campaign, since he has written a book. Wallace, by far the most skilled of the talking head interviewers, pressed Romney on his two primary claims: that Obama has spent his first year apologizing for being an American, and that his health care plan is awful.
Romney was unable to delineate any major differences between the plan he developed in Massachusetts and Obamas, except that the latter is a national policy, whereas Romneys just applied to one state. He claimed that insurance companies bear no responsibility for rising health care costs, and then said that when insurance companies act badly, actions should be taken against them, but couldnt clarify what he meant. When he tried to say a difference was that the Massachusetts plan didnt have a public option, Wallace nearly laughed out loud. I dont know if Romney thought that Wallace would give him a free ride, since it was on Fox. If he did think that, he might have wanted to watch the show once in awhile or at least prepare.
I readily admit that he is the presumptive nominee. Wall Street adores him. My guess is that if he gets the nomination, it would be a debacle. Name one Bible Belt state that would support him perhaps Mississippi. He will bring down a number of Republican House seats in this region. He didnt say anything that I thought was believable in the last campaign. I had made a bet with a friend that if he and HRC won their respective nominations, we could set up lie detectors on both of them, and make a drinking game out of it. But thats beside the point. Instead of just foisting another nominee upon the American public, it might be worth the partys time to actually try to figure out who the voters would support. For his part Romney might try being honest, and see how Americans like actually knowing what he would do. But I sort of think he doesnt even know what he believes any more.

Who do we have to run in 2012? Anyone not actively raising funds and organizing right now can’t win.
Is Palin it?
Does the Tea Party have anyone?
Maybe it is for the best. If Obummercare passes it probably doesn’t matter anymore.
It was a huge debacle, I was speechless with what I heard, especially when Romney BRAGGED MA only pays 50% and the Feds (US) pays the rest of the cost.. how nice for the people of MA that we in Arizona help cover their health care expenses. /s
So whatever else romney care has or has not in common with bamacare, it has the prime poison pill firmly imbedded in it. The individual mandate, to my mind would be justification for organized resistance. If the rat-bastards can make you do that they can make you do anything. If Massachusetts was still American, it would be burning by now.

wouldnt make any sense at all.""

my "R" didn't stand so much for Republican as it does for reform."

Thing will naturally start to shake out after the 2010 mid-terms.....Don’t count out Palin, not because I have some blind faith in her but because her own political enemies in Alaska said that people should never underestimate her abilities and that she thrives when people take her for granted, I trust the people who have lost or suffered harm from her politically more than some pundit.
Romney is NOT the presumptive nominee by a long shot. That’s like saying the NO Saints had no chance of winning the SB.
Sarah Palin is definitely a major contender. No one who is intellectually honest could claim that Mitt has the field to himself.
Until further notice, this is a two person contest. At the moment, either could win the GOP nomination
Rudy also was the most fiscally conservative of the 2008 pack.
Unfreakingbelievable. Don't bother with a fork. Put a stake in the MF*er.
All I know is this in 2012: there is and will be a large segment of conservatives and republicans voting with their ‘HEART’ not their ‘HEAD’ in the GOP primaries, this might spell disaster for someone like Mitt, no matter how ‘presidential’ he may appear to be.
Whoever win the hearts of the people will run against Obama.
The elite in D.C. should understand we won’t cover for Mitt anymore then we did McCain. I certainly won’t persuade voters to choose him. And unlike last time, adding a conservative VP won’t cut it this time.
RomneyCare is not ObamaCare, much like a BJ in the Oval Office is not sex.
Palin or Romney? That's like tweedle dee or tweedle dum. I pray you are wrong (and I am an atheist).
Maybe I should buy that sailboat I have been looking at.
There are a few disqaulifiers there, one disqualifier is, if you ran in 2008, you couldnt beat the worst GOP nominee since Dewey... so no retreads. here’s the shortlist:
Palin -
Barbour -
Demint -
Pence -
Jindal -
Mitch Daniels -
Thune
Where were you last night, on one of the Mitt threads some one made a comment about his hands and I was expecting your pic of Mitt in the rubber gloves
Next time.
I would be happy with that group battling it out in the Primaries, the only problem is that Sarah already has a large following and ability to fundraise tons of money out of that group; it would need to be an outstanding separation by any one of those guys to clearly seize control
Someone recently asked, “What is the difference between Greece and Britain?” And the answer was, “One year.” By 2012, I think we are going to be in deeper doo doo than we are now, and Comandante Zero will be finished.
I don’t know who the Republican candidate will be, but it won’t be Romney.
I could certainly live with Palin as President. My question though is she the best we have?
Palin supported TARP, and continues to support McCain. With obviously poor judgment like that, I just don’t get a warm fuzzy feeling if you know what I mean.
