In perhaps the worst possible development for the radical left since the discovery of Karl Rove's now infamous "Weather Machine," Governor Palin's recently exposed top secret "laugh track" machine appears to also have even more dastardly powers than were originally feared. In addition to altering the space-time continuum, and reprogramming the master computers at NBC to cause laughter during Sarah's monologue to appear where none had been before, and send well-intentioned jeers and "groans" from her wannabe stalkers into the abyss this mysterious device apparently also exerts some kind of irresistible mind control powers over the loyal fans of "American Idol" megastar Adam Lambert, causing many of them to actually like the producer of the upcoming new "Alaska Valley Days" TV series, Governor Sarah Palin.
Or, at least, that's what the Kos Kids would like you to believe.
Many of those wacky ultra-left "conspiracy-mongers" who post at such online cesspools as the Daily Kos, Huffpo and DU have been foaming at the mouth all week about Sarah's "rock star" performance during for last week's taping of "Day Two" of Jay Leno's return to the traditional 11:35 pm time slot for the "Tonight Show."
Since I was actually in the studio audience last week when Governor Palin made her "comedy debut" with a small band of "Palin palm print"-bearing FReepers (and FRiends) who had crashed the party with the intention of acting as "Ed McMahon" to Sarah's "Johnny Carson" I call BS on their widely-reported, but easily-debunked, "laugh track" conspiracy theory.
In my not so humble opinion, however, the REAL "back story" behind last week's studio audience, which has naturally NOT been covered in the "State-Controlled Media" was that a huge percentage of that relatively "pro-Palin" audience last week were "glamberts" that is, hard core fans of "American Idol" singer Adam Lambert, whom many music lovers view as a contemporary reincarnation of Elvis. (Or, perhaps Liberace.)
In this thread, which will serve as the "after action" report for our recent Leno FReep, I intend to explore this strange and very unexpected (to me) twist on the controversial "big tent" philosophy of the new Republican party. And that strange new twist is, many Adam Lambert fans support Sarah Palin!
I am particularly interested in hearing on this thread from ADAM LAMBERT FANS who support Sarah Palin, but I would also like to hear from CONSERVATIVES who may have reservations about welcoming this new group of Palin supporters, many of whom have been NOT previously been engaged (or informed) in the political arena.
Personally, I like the concept of "My tent, my rules."
That is, we welcome the electoral support of just about ANYBODY but only on OUR terms. I believe that the conservative political movement should be like America itself: everyone is welcome here IF you agree to certain fundamental, non-negotiable principles.
Please post YOUR comments and opinions about Sarah Palin and the "glamberts" here.
Thank you,
RonDog
In today's world, this is how you break-through the media's lock on your image.
Besides, Reagan was part of pop culture, coming out of Hollywood. He knew how to use that for his advantage.
Reagan had decades of speeches under his belt, but the media tried to portray him as a fool from select movies he did. So Reagan took the message directly to the people.....that is what Palin is doing -- eliminating the filter.
For a President who often came across as cold and wooden, I thought it was actually pretty OK.
At the time, if you remember, it helped his personal ratings immensely.
But extremely effective. Nixon himself credited that appearance as giving him a major boost. It "humanized" him in the public's mind.
Lambert and Palin are both Rogues.
BTW, aside from Adam's way over the top antics and flaming appearance, that boy can honestly sing!

Very Funny.
...All in all, there may have been some laughter added over the top of her jokes, but only to enhance the audiences reaction not fill it in completely. I am sure this is not the first time this has happened on a talk show. This is the only part of Mallard's insightful post on HotAir.com that I need to respectfully disagree with. Conclusion: D-bag Stinson is a liar.

Here is a private reply that I sent to some Palin supporters who asked for MY opinion of this latest scandal:
...I don't plan to spend much time refuting the Kos Kids Konspiracies -- but OUR GROUP was probably the "laugh track" they thought they heard. Some of that (now public) reply will make more sense after you read Stinson's original charges. We only had a dozen or so FReepers (and FRiends) actually get in, so perhaps our support for Governor Palin did sound a little "forced" at times.
But it also may have helped that we were sitting directly under a microphone that may have made us sound louder to the TV audience at home than it would have to the bozo (sitting in another part of the studio audience) who wrote this screed.
I certainly did not hear HIS supposedly "loud" groans and sighes from where I was sitting -- in the center. Perhaps they really did have the mikes where he was sitting turned down. It sounds like where the "Rouge" people were sitting was where our friend Eric Golub was sitting. Maybe HE saw their "coloring books" -- and heard their "groans." WE certainly did not, from where we were sitting.
And OUR "Palin palm prints" didn't make it on the TV crowd shots either. The cameras were ignoring ALL of us in the audience, equally, I think.
On his side, over by the Tonight Show band, there were a lot of rather vocal Shaun White fans. Maybe that's why his mike was turned down, and did not pick up his sounds as well our mike did for our sounds -- at least for what the the audience at home was hearing. - RonDog
Not aware of Adam Lambert until last week? And I thought I was woefully out of the mainstream pop culture! ;-)
Adam wears MORE LIPSTICK than Sarah! LOL.
If you can’t see that our nation is in moral decline, what are you fighting to defend, our right to listen to thrash?
You are picking and choosing quite a strange array of time periods to point to, but the label you chose for each time period don’t point to a moral base. The closest you came was “Puritan,” and the fact that you chose that label indicates that you really don’t know much about the Puritans other than what your teachers have programmed you to think. The Puritans were actually a pretty fun bunch who didn’t mind drinking, lewdness, and having a wild time. They were “pure” in their interpretation of Biblical teaching.
It sounds like you believe the lie that Revisionist Historians have been preaching that American tradition is evil. I’d suggest “Patriot’s History of the US” and “the Politically Incorrect Guide to American History” if you’d like to read some history books that actually paint us as having a pretty good track record.
By the way, I’d go for the gold-rush era of capitalism in a heartbeat. Economically, we were far better-off under “Laisse Faire” (though there was not much that was actually hands-off about it) economics, and it was a far better banking system.
But I’d also go back to a time period to when pop culture was not so blatantly decadent. I know the Great Generation was not perfect, but I’d much rather go to a Glenn Miller concert than a Pearl Jam concert. Yes, the people had their faults and weaknesses, but we made a joint effort to shame wrongful behavior and praise virtuous behavior. When we allowed the Leftists to destroy the concept of right and wrong and of shame and praise, we allowed them to dictate the new right and wrong.
Liberace? How passe. Not convinced he was a conservative, though.
...OUR GROUP was probably the "laugh track" they thought they heard. For those of you not old enough to remember this CLASSIC "Tonight Show" tradition, see also, from wikipedia.org:...a small band of "Palin palm print"-bearing FReepers (and FRiends) who had crashed the party with the intention of acting as "Ed McMahon" to Sarah's "Johnny Carson" -- RonDog
...For more than 30 years, McMahon introduced the Tonight Show with a drawn-out "Here's Johnny!"His booming voice and constant laughter alongside the "King of Late Night" earned McMahon the nickname the "Human Laugh Track.."
