With defense and acrimony building in the Persian Gulf, Iran announced plans to test a new laser-guided bomb. Iran's Fars News Agency reported that a prototype of the 2,000-pound smart bomb would be tested "in the near future," the country's air force commander Brig. Gen Hassan Shahsafi said.
He said the smart bomb, dubbed Qassed-2, had a longer range and better vision than its earlier version, the Qassed-1. That weapon made its debut four years ago and has since then been in mass production. Qassed is interpreted as "messenger."
It was not immediately clear how advanced the prototype is and whether it would be available for mass production.
Western military experts seemed skeptical of the announcement, saying the Islamic Republic had a history of declaring military advancements prematurely as a means of saber-rattling.
Others speculated that "the announcement of the Qassed-2 is a move of brinkmanship to discourage the Gulf emirate states of Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates from participating in the expansion of the United States' Patriot missile defense system," the Threat Matrix reported

My sister’s boyfriend’s family lives in Israel, they told him today everyone in Israel has been told to buy face masks because of the fear that Iran is making a nuclear weapon. It’s getting really serious over there
The IDF gave the order several days ago.
It’s a smart bomb? You mean it’s going to head straight for Tehran?
Yeah, it’s really scary, Iran should have been taken care of a long time ago, now they are capable of destroying Israel if they want to, and Israel knows they are on their own because we have a Marxist in the White House who sides with the Arabs
I hope your right, really I do.....
Actually, they are very worried of a chemical attack by Syria with a Iranian attack.
If it starts with Iran, it will come from all directions, all the Arab countries will come out of the woodwork to strike Israel
The Arab countries have been very receptive of a IAF strike on Iran. Many of them may grant the IAF overflights of their countries if an attack order is given. The oil producing Arab countries see Iran as a major threat to them, religiously and economically.
Are the face masks for radiation? Please excuse my question to probably an obvious answer.
If it starts with Iran, it will come from all directions, all the Arab countries will come out of the woodwork to strike Israel
Not probable. Egypt and Saudia Arabia, for instance, would welcome Israel taking on Iran.
Yes, but remember, Radiation masks does not last too long. The filter gives out after 12 hours of constant use. Best thing to do, is to have a ample supply of Potassium Iodide because it protects the thyroid. In radiation sickness, the thyroid is the first to be attacked.
The key is how long you have been exposed it radiation.
Thank you Sonofstrangelove for the ping.

A Look at Iran
http://www.truthusa.com/IRAN.html
There was a time when America would have been wielded the can of Whoop-Ass, but sadly those days are gone now. We've let those who don't have the balls to carry that can of Whoop-Ass and let everyone know they have it, and will USE it, set the rules for our world. So now the very fact that you have a can of it, and will use it makes you the bad guy. And the worst part is that even those who claim to be on your side are scared to death of that can.
Someone needs to take out Iran, not the country, just the leadership. They are cowards who just like the bully in high school have learned that enough bluster can make up for a lack of balls.
Saudi Arabia for one may wink. They and Iran mostly comprise opposing sects of Islam. If Israel were gone, they’d be at each other’s throats.
Very, very well said. You’re right on.
