Massa is now the 15th House Democrat to announce retirement plans, with 11 of them leaving districts that Republicans are aggressively contesting. House Republicans face 19 retirements, but most of their departing members hail from safe seats.
Massas departure also adds to the woes of New York Democrats, Gov. David Paterson, , and Rangel.
Former Rep. John Randy Kuhl, whom Massa beat by 2 percentage points in 2008, is exploring the possibility of running for his old seat
Kind of odd isn't it?
I've been talking to my wife about this and wonder if it has anything to do with Breitbart's promise/threat to release information that would influence the 2012 elections.
Thinking maybe he gave Holder some info to investigate and instead Holder is "suggesting" that they retire as not to embarrass Obutthole any further.
“House Republicans face 19 retirements, but most of their departing members hail from safe seats.”
The open seat races in safe districts need to be targeted. We need to make sure that safe districts are represented by the most conservative candidates possible. I’d prefer they be pro-2nd amendment and strongly oppose open borders and free trade.
Only 2 GOP open seats are in serious danger.
DE-AL
and to a lesser extent IL-10 since the democrats renominated their 2 time loser from the last 2 elections there.
