I don't think that's accurate based on county-by-county returns.

thank heavens Medina came in third. I had to cover a kay campaign stop for the paper and thought she was rather phony....she refused to really honestly answer my question about her liberal votes.
I don’t like Perry, but I am glad it looks like he avoided a run-off here....at least probably.
That is exactly my point about House RATS and Obamacare destroying their careers.
Hutchison collapsing tonight and a GOP candidate running away with a special election in a swing district in Connecticut.
Overall, a good electoral night.
Well if I was 20 points behind for a runoff, then I think I would do what she did. Why continue for another six weeks of humiliation. If I was close, well then I would do the runoff.
I just saw that

Kay Bailey Hutchinson concedes in race for Texas GOP primary, congratulates Gov. Rick Perry
SO even if Medina had not run Kay wouldn’t have won anyway...adios Medina!!!! Hope she stays out of the picture.
True. I have not looked at county returns to see what’s left.
Why is she conceding....the lead is narrowing.
She’s not really gaining that much in todays vote..... I also suspect they know the results of some counties she needs to win big in order to come back and if that is so and they the votes aren’t there then concede and be done with it.
She condeded at 9:20 with a call to Perry — no run-off!
Relief!
Nice to get a quick concession for once.
Nice to get a quick concession for once.
She needed a good vote in some of the DFW counties and I suspect it wasn’t there for her. I”ve not looked at them but that is my guess. No need to drag it out if the vote wasn’t there.
YAAAAY!
Thank you KBH for doing the right thing.
Now we can just move on.
