Dont expect this to make any headlines. The arrested rightwing extremist is a democrat. This is just one more rushed judgement from people like the Southern Poverty law Center. Just because someone trains with weapons and they are not law enforcement or military, they are labeled as militia members when in reality, the Hutaree was a fundamentalist Christian militant group. This is a far cry from Constitutional militias and watchdogs. I find it highly amusing that one of those arrested and touted across mainstream media for a week is an active, voting Democrat.
Liberals in the media have been busy parading around Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center to bash the right. As befits his organizations MO, Potok, has done the best he can to link recently-arrested militia members to the Tea Party movement and conservatism generally.
Potoks job may have just gotten a bit harder, and the liberal media may need to find another way to discredit their political opponents. It turns out most of the militiamen were active voters, and at least one was a registered Democrat. Party registrations for the rest are not yet known.
The Blade, a newspaper in Toledo, Ohio reported today:
Most of the indicted militia members accused of being anti-government extremists have active voting records, a check with area voter registration offices showed yesterday.
One is a registered Democrat, and the party affiliations of the rest could not be determined.
Jacob J. Ward, 33, of Huron, Ohio, voted as a Democrat in the 2004 and 2008 primary elections. He also voted in 10 other elections since 2000. Party affiliation in Ohio is determined by which partys ballot they requested in the most recent primary election.

American-Born Cleric Added to Capture-or-Kill List, Called 'Terrorist No. 1'
April 6, 2010
The radical Muslim cleric tied to suspects in both the Fort Hood shooting and failed Christmas Day bombing has become a key terror target, with a top member of Congress calling him "terrorist number one" and officials confirming he's been added to a list that would allow U.S. operatives to capture or kill him.
Rep. Jane Harman, D-Calif., called Anwar al-Awlaki, a U.S. citizen believed to be in Yemen, "terrorist number one" at an intelligence conference Tuesday.
"He is very much in the sights of the Yemenis, with us helping them," said Harman, chairwoman of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Intelligence.
A U.S. government official told Fox News that al-Awlaki, wanted for his role with Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, was added to the capture-or-kill target list back in January.
