Obama's coast guard cuts - a receipe for disaster (Rep. John Mica)
Snips: The cuts to the U.S. Coast Guard budget proposed by the Obama Administration are nothing short of a recipe for disaster and could severely undermine the nation’s port and maritime security.
It is outrageous that the Administration would propose cutting personnel, equipment and assets so essential to American security and safety.
This budget would reduce funds for port, waterway and coastal security by more than $100 million. It would also eliminate five Maritime Safety and Security Teams (MSST): specially trained anti-terrorist teams responsible for providing security at our largest ports. Included among the cuts would be the MSST station at our nation’s second largest port, the Port of New York/New Jersey.
BA man arrested in terror plot raid
A BRITISH Airways worker has been arrested during a probe into terrorist fund-raising, it emerged yesterday. The British man, 30 - thought to be from an Asian background - was held at BA's Newcastle-upon-Tyne call centre.
A plot to raise cash for an attack, possibly on a jet, is thought to have been uncovered.

In 1970, the BLA sent ODINGA to Algeria to help set up the international section of the BLACK PANTHER PARTY (BPP). After a split in the BLACK PANTHER PARTY caused by the FBI’s counterintelligence program (COINTELPRO) occurred, ODINGA decided to come back to the U.S. to continue “the struggle” which he did until his capture in October of 1981. ODINGA is presently serving out a 40-year prison sentence in Florence, CO for his role in the Brink’s Robbery. ODINGA said the following about the BLA’s motivation for their involvement in the Brink’s Robbery. ODINGA’s organization [the BLA] was “fighting for the liberation and self-determination of black people in this country.” ODINGA testified that the killings were suitable because the three victims had interfered with the “EXPROPRIATION”. In ODINGA’s view, the theft of money was morally justified because those funds “were robbed through the slave labor that was forced on them and their ancestors.”

On Sept. 21, 1981, the office of the Eastern Rugby Union (ERU) in Schenectady, New York was bombed. The bombing was related to the fact that the ERU was the chief sponsor of a three-game American tour by the South AFRICAN (under Apartheid) national rugby team, the Springboks.
