Selfish ego goes along with the IQ. That may be a significant part of the answer.

If they have higher IQs then why do they consistently come up with the wrong answers to society’s and life’s problems? Why do they think that the problem is that the right people haven't tried to implement failed policies of the past?
Why do they filter out the history of countries where what they currently advocate has failed miserably?
