Yes, for those who are without Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, they are doomed, but, it doesn't have to be that way...
The ARK of Noah was a type , or word picture of Jesus Christ.
The ARK was built to save Noah , his family, and the animals, the ARK had a whole in it's side, Jesus Christ was pierced in his side, the cleff in the rock, were we can run into it and be safe from destruction.
Jesus Christ is our salvation from doom, he is our righteousness that GOD gives to us.
