Chile isn’t a third-world nation, like Haiti is. They have a higher standard of living, but there are poor areas with lots of shantys and ramshackle buildings.

Wow big EQ news.

We just got to bed and no tv for the Lenten season so I thought I would read a little here to get to sleep.

And wallah a HUGE quake.

We are on the Oregon Coast (have a emerg alert radio) and have this is our first year getting a temp permit to shuttle folks around to/fro the huge Seafood and Wine fest.

With the Thousands of tourists here to ye haw a tsunami warning/event would not be good at all. LOL Nervously.

We are going to get up and out early to shuttle the people around again and as they continue to feast/fest Ill bet no one has a clue
about Chile or the fact that they are in a tsanami zone here.

They wouldnt know what hit them anyway. : )
