There’s a large assortment of navy vessels just north of Talcahuano, on the west side of the bay. The tsunami that swamped Talcahuano probably hit that whole harbor pretty hard.
A big one like this one in Chile on the New Madrid would absolutely obliterate Memphis and St. Louis.
The 1812 New Madrid quake was felt over the entire eastern USA. It was reported collapsed chimneys in NYC and rang church bells in Boston. A quake this massive is unimaginable

CNN weather guy just got handed a report of a tsunami at 40 meters. “I’ll believe that when I see it,” he said.
40 meteres?!?!? Nah, can’t be. That’s over 120 feet!
