On the radio KFI LA..
I am convinced the Chile media is trained by our media. Listening to a translation earlier on CNN: it has been 12 hours and no official government report on casualties or damage...
Well I'm glad to see we make it past 2012. :-)
A destroyed bridge is seen next to Talca some 300 km (186 miles) south of Santiago February 27, 2010. A huge magnitude-8.8 earthquake struck Chile early on Saturday, knocking down homes and hospitals, and triggering a tsunami that rolled menacingly across the Pacific. LOLOL!!!
Okay, now I am breaking.
:D
Off for a bit, prays for Chile and all.
Got to come back to this later....going out for some errands...
I haven't seen any numbers regarding that "fact" (and there is that 1906 quake headstart to overcome) but would be happy to agree with you if you could provide the numbers.
On the true risk side, I think you have a mistaken sense of potential risk. The fact remains - each year several extrememly energetic tornadoes occur, the same can't be said about earthquakes - and I hope it stays that way since an extremely energetic tornado has a massively smaller probability of massive death and destruction than an extremely energetic eartquake.
TO each their own I guess...
She can vent all she wants. But suing a builder because an 8.8 quake made the building uninhabitable?
I hope it stays that way. An 8.8 EQ in a densly populated area of CA could change that math in a massive way in a matter of minutes...
wealthier
Are those vinyards back there. Uh oh.. someone is going to have a problem getting wine to market.
Venezuela blog says the Santiago damage looks like Hugo Chavez has been running the country for 11 years.

Yes, the politician on now says she considers it a tsunami. She says she’s no expert in these things, but she calls it that. Looks like it only came a few blocks onto land, though.
You’re missing the point. The woman is not suing anybody. She’s directing her frustration at the only party she can think of - she doesn’t know what else to do.
I don’t think anyone will hold the builder responsible for an 8.8 quake
Looks like a small, very coastal city.
Looks like most big Chile cities sit between two rows of mountains, safe from tsunami.
Hugo’s Fault!
Not sure what effect this will have at the grocery store. we get a lot of fresh stuff from chile..
SAhe said she’s suing.
Including the grapes from that farm where the bridge collpased!! Oh the hugh manitee!
